They all think they can sleep their way to the top - blondes, brunettes and redheads. That is, until they meet me. My name is DeVon Ricci and I’m an asshole. At least they all seem to think so. But I don’t give a shit because they never last long. Two or three weeks tops, then they're gone. Not that it matters. There’s always another talent waiting to take a seat on the casting couch, but I've yet to find what I'm looking for. I know what I want and I won't settle for less. I'm always chasing perfection.
The embodiment of the American dream, DeVon Ricci had come to America from Italy when he was a teenager and then, with hard work and perseverance, had worked his way up in a cutthroat industry to emerge as the head of one of the top talent agencies in Los Angeles. Now it looks like he has everything he could ever want, except for the perfect woman.

Synopsis: I’ll be honest with you—I’m no hero. Sure, the media tries to brand every Navy SEAL as some kind of Batman dressed in cammies. There’s even a line in one of our cadences: Superman is the man of steel, he ain’t no match for Navy SEAL. You’ve seen the movies—we’re infallible, invaluable, invincible. But that night, the one you read about in the papers … all I really wanted to do was get laid. One harmless fuck with an Aruban whore, no strings attached. I picked her out of a lineup—wild, dark hair, long legs and a crooked smile. After she sucked me off, I relaxed back onto the creaky, cum-stained cot, thankful for the blissful moments she gave me when I actually forgot for a second the faces of my buddies who died because I made the wrong call, the tears of the children I couldn’t save, and the eyes of the enemies I slaughtered during their last seconds of life. But before I left, her hazel eyes peered into my soul. She whispered in a distinct Californian accent, “My name is Annie Hamilton. I’m an American citizen. I was kidnapped on spring break five years ago. You’re my last hope. Please save me.” One desperate plea. This wasn’t a Hollywood blockbuster or a New York Times best-selling thriller. I knew this time there was no room for excuses, no margin for errors. I had one chance to put on the cape and be her hero. Publisher’s Note: This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places, and incidents are a product of the author’s imagination. Locales and public names are sometimes used for atmospheric purposes. Any resemblance to actual people, living or dead, or to businesses, companies, events, institutions, or locales is completely coincidental. Expanded edition, with Annie's POV, 15,000 more words, new twist, more emotion. This is a full length novel, 60,000 words. New Adult Romantic Thriller. This book is intended for readers 18+.

RELEASE DAY BLITZ: HiT To Live- The Finale by Margaret McHeyzer

tag1420140720-221238-79958240.jpg tag17 Anna Brookes, AKA 15, held the title of the girl with the golden aim. Through dedication and training she quickly rose to be the best assassin in the world. But no amount of preparation could guard her heart against falling in love. Anna’s armor was severely crumpled when she met Ben Pearson, the one man that managed to get under her skin and stay there. When Katsu Vang, a powerful player in the Yakuza, became a threat to Ben, Anna did the one thing she knew best–she went into assassin mode and fought the problem at the source. Katsu Vang proved to be an admirable adversary that even Anna couldn’t take down on her own. Because of her undercover intel work, Anna became a target for Katsu. She was sold into the sex trade and continuously injected with heroin until her body was hopelessly addicted. Ben Pearson was hiding behind his own mask, which finally dropped as his true identity was revealed to Anna in HiT for Freedom. Ophelia is Ben’s right hand at the job he held as a front. Ophelia has her own vendetta and wants her mother’s killer brought to justice. Katsu has vanished but his power still poses an imminent threat to all concerned. Anna Brookes is the common link between all the players… The one woman that can put all the pieces together… The one woman that can tear everything down. 20140720-221239-79959624.jpg tag19
I’m not sure how long my mind is enveloped in darkness, pain, and weakness. I have no idea how many days, or even weeks pass by as I lay in this bed, completely consumed by my own worst terrifying nightmare – a loss of control so complete I’ve forgotten who and what I am.
The bleakness is present in every breath I take, the blackness evident in the shadows behind every flutter of my eyelids.
My body is not my own and the reality is unnerving. It shakes and still craving the drug, all while my system tries to purge the dirty drugs that have been pumped into me since the moment I was sold into sexual slavery.
Through the looming, horror-filled moments, I do grasp a small sliver of clarity and begin to make plans.
Plans to kill the man that bought me, the wife that insisted I whore myself out, and the daughter who encouraged men to indulge their gruesome fantasies.
My plans go deeper and stretch further than just seeking justice for myself.
Those men that were hurting the little girl in Katsu’s care will also be dealt the hand they deserve.
My head clears just a little more as my aching body is covered in goose bumps and a fine sheen of cold sweat as I think of Katsu.
My plans for him grow more detailed and precise as my body lays slumped and broken, slowly healing itself.
I will be Anna Brookes once more, and when I’m fully recovered, there’ll be no stopping the full force of what I’ll bring to Katsu Vang.
The pain I’ve endured will be nothing in comparison to the red hot wrath that I’ll happily inflict upon him.
He will die by my hand. It will be a slow, torturous, agonizing experience for him. For me it’ll be a delicious revenge, and my burning hunger to end his life will be satisfied as I watch him beg for mercy from me.

tag15I don't do 'normal'. I've found that the more I write, the more I like being different to other authors. I write in first person, and I love to challenge a reader. I take the normal and switch it around. For me, I really enjoy getting a reaction from a reader. So if I can evoke an emotion (regardless of if it's the emotion the reader wants) then I figure that I've done my job as an author I want to be. I really quite revel in taking people out of their comfort zones and pushing them to read something different. My genre of writing is, well quite frankly, where ever my mind goes. I won't label myself because I don't like sticking to one genre. My goal with writing is just to take people away from whatever is going on in their lives, even if it's only for a split second. I'm a go with the flow sort of person and don't really take a course of action to get where I am going. I live in the moment and don't usually worry about tomorrow because whatever life is due to bring me, I'll be happy to accept. I love my family and friends and will help anyway I can if someone needs it. I really don't like people that are nasty just because they can be, I don't believe that's necessary, I mean life's hard enough as it is! I hope you enjoy my books, I've had a hoot writing them. There's more to come..... Til next time. M xx

Connected by A.E. Murphy Blitz

Welcome to the promotional event for CONNECTED by A.E. Murphy!

Title: Connected (Broken #2)
Author:: A. E. Murphy
Series:: The Broken Series
Genre: New Adult
Publication: June 4, 2014

"Emotionally gripping, psychologically complex, and deeply romantic, A.E. Murphy's brilliantly drawn characters in the BROKEN series will stay with you long after you turn the last page." --Heather Anastasiu, author of Glitch (St. Martin's Press)

Stuck between what feels wrong but should be right and what is definitely wrong but feels so right, Gwen has to deal with her new life and being a single mother to her baby, Dillan. Whilst trying to move on and fill the gaping hole that Caleb left behind, she struggles with the knowledge of what happened to Nathan. She doesn't know how to deal with it, knowing it could be her that saves him, but not wanting to betray Caleb, who still holds the largest piece of her heart. Her mind is a mess and, just as life starts looking better, dark secrets and a past she shouldn't be a part of threaten to rip her bliss into shreds.

Who will she choose? And, more importantly, can they survive what is thrown their way?

This is the final part to the Broken series.

Mature readers only. 18+

My phone rings, it’s not even seven in the morning. Nathan. Ugh, what does he want? It’s too early to argue. “Hello?”

“Get Dillan ready, I’ll be there in two hours.” And the line goes dead.

Are you fucking kidding me? No. Dillan had me up half of the night. I’m sleeping and I’m going to remain this way until he wakes me up again. Screw you and your orders.

Besides, my eyes won’t stay open long enough for me to get out of bed.

I let out a startled choke when the blanket is pulled from my body, disturbing me from my pleasant dreams that I no longer remember. “What the hell?” I blink away my blurred vision and glare at a scowling Nathan. He’s looming over me in a way that tells me he probably wants to throttle me right now. “I could have been naked.” I practically am in only a top and knickers.

“I called you two hours ago, only to find you still sleeping?” He scoffs and walks over to the cot where Dillan is now awake and crying, probably from my sudden screech of fear.

“I don’t remember a call,” I lie and sit up, my hands immediately begin rubbing my eyes. Wait… “How did you get in?”

“I knocked, your mum answered.”

“Oh. It’s nine in the morning, why are you wearing a suit?” Not that he doesn’t look good. He really does.

“Could you get up and pack his things? I’ll bring him back on Monday.”

“I never agreed to the length of time or you even picking him up. Not to mention the fact I don’t have a number to contact you. Which makes me feel very uneasy.” I stand, not feeling modest in the slightest. “I’m going to have a shower.”

“I have places I need to be,” he snaps and my anger at his tone peaks, “Then you shouldn’t be taking Dillan!”

“I’ll get him ready myself.”

“You do that,” I say around a yawn and pull open the door. “I’ll be about fifteen minutes. I want to say goodbye before he leaves.”

His jaw clenches but he remains silent, which I’m eternally grateful for.

I take my time showering, just to be awkward. I also take my time getting dressed and drying my hair, again… just to be awkward.

“Today would be nice, Guinevere!” Nathan calls up the stairs, making me snigger. Why am I pushing him?

After making him wait another ten minutes, I finally make my way downstairs. He’s sitting on the couch with Dillan on his chest, looking casual and content. Well, as casual as one can look in an expensive suit. “Sorry it took me so long.” No I’m not. Not in the slightest.

Nathan lifts Dillan up and over his face, making him smile and gurgle. “She’s not is she? Not at all. She’s silently laughing at me.” His voice is high and happy, I love it when he speaks to Dillan like this. “Mummy is mean, yes she is.” Uh-oh.

“Puke face,” I say with a wince but it’s too late.

REVIEW

The story of Gwen and Nathan continues in book two of the Broken Series, Connected. I loved every word of the first book, Broken. It was an emotional rollercoaster ride that I read in one day. I could not wait to find out how Gwen and Nathan’s story was going to play out in book two. Let me tell you, A.E. does not disappoint, I could feel the frustration, anger, love, passion… it was great writing. The emotions in book two were just as high and overpowering as they were in book one.
Nathan was a great lead male character, I completely loved him. Yes, he has demons and issues, but he truly was a strong alpha male in his own way, with a tender spot for Gwen and Dillan. My heart went out to him for what he was going through. Gwen, I was so sad for her in book one, I mean OMG, I couldn’t imagine what she was going through, but without the tragedy of Caleb, she never would have had the chance to get to know Nathan… but like any great romance, all hell breaks loose… ;) I don’t want to give away any of the twists and turns of this story, but let me be the one to tell you, you do not want to miss out on these books.
Connected is a great story full of drama and emotions, I recommend this series to anyone who loves a great read from and amazing writer! Five stars.

I'm 23 and I’ve been writing since I could hold a pen in my hand! I love to write, it’s my passion, and I never stop. In fact I love to write so much I have started over one hundred and fifty different books before finally completing my first ever novel 'A Little Bit of Crazy' which I published in May 2013 on Amazon for Kindle. I was grateful when I received feedback as it helps me be a better writer.

When I'm not writing, I love spending time with my family and when I get some spare time (not easy with young children!) it’s either reading or listening to music. You won’t find me without a book or my Kindle in my hand. I read whilst I’m cooking, cleaning, talking, walking… you could say reading is my other passion!
