Author: Bella Jewel
Cover Design: LM Creations
 Release Date: November 24, 2014

Synopsis

I married a douchebag.

It's my own fault, really. He came in like a handsome stranger and blew me off my feet. I fell madly in love, like the naive girl I am.

Then he left me high and dry.

Turns out, I was nothing more than a business plan for billionaire playboy, Marcus Tandem. He needed to be married to obtain his grandfathers business, and I was the poor victim in his path. I thought we had something real, I believed it was special until the truth reared its ugly head.

I never meant anything to Marcus. Not a damned thing.

Five years on and my life has been a struggle. Left with nothing, I've had to work myself into the ground to clean up my debts and take care of my sick mother, as well as trying to divorce a man that refuses contact with me.

Five years is a lot of time to plot the perfect revenge.

What my dear husband didn't count on, is that fact that I was smarter than I looked. After all, what married couple doesn't take out a life insurance policy? If he dies. I get five million dollars.

Of course, Marcus doesn't know about it.

One drunken night just after I left made sure of that. My mother is unwell, she can't pay for treatment. And I'm a bitter woman. I've been the joke of Marcus Tandem for five years while I've formed the perfect plan. Now it's my turn.

I have to kill him.

Oh yes, Marcus will pay for what he did.

I made a vow before God, that I would be by his side 'Til death do we part.

I plan to keep that vow.

Synopsis
Elizabeth has finally escaped from Asmodeus. Safely tucked away in a small seaside village in Italy, she finds peace and maybe a little bit of heat with Jared. Her seeming savior, he not only got her somewhere safe, but the connection, heat, and desire he inspires in her is undeniable.

But one little slip up.

And the devil finds his diamond again.

From a secluded hideaway, locked in the devil’s arms, to the busy streets of Paris, France. The devil is no longer playing in her dreams, but with her very real, hot-blooded desires. Elizabeth quickly comes to realize that she may never escape the beast, and that her only option could be to give in, or die trying to save her soul… and heart.

If I die before I wake, pray the Lord my soul to take.
That single sentence kept running on a loop in her brain. She didn’t know why. Even growing up, her faith was iffy at best. Elizabeth struggled now even more. The facts remained. If there was a devil, then there was a God.
     There had to be.
     Right?
Her fingers tightened on the steering wheel as she pushed that last quarter mile into the town she was to meet Jared. The only person on her side in this whole sordid mess. At first Elizabeth was going to stop, but things had changed after she saw the devil in his true form. Her brain couldn’t reconcile the monster that had threatened her with the handsome man that threatened her. Somehow, it seemed less real, and easier to survive this bullshit if he was just that handsome man.   The monster was harder to stomach and it felt like a daunting task to escape him.
It was going on the seven-hour mark. Elizabeth had stopped for gas twice, and ate a small bag of chips. This was slowly catching up to her as she nudged the gas pedal to the floor. The road turned from concrete to dirty the closer she got to the small seaside town of Polignano a Mare. Her heart started to pound faster and her knuckles were white as she clenched the wheel. Elizabeth could see the small turnout. She jerked the wheel to the right and the back of the car fishtailed as she kept up her speed and pushed forward. The car quickly righted itself and she released an ugly, loud sob of relief as the quaint two-story building came into view.
It looked like a simple modest home. Its outside walls were a light tan with dark markings that looked like water damage. The grape vines climbed up to the second story windows. They all looked as if they were open. It appeared the home was on a large, expansive property. Miles of grape vines spread out up a hill behind the home and overlooked the glittering blue blanket of liquid paradise to her right.
Elizabeth couldn’t even enjoy the view. Her vision was blurred from her sudden rush of tears. She'd held back the whole way, distracting herself with the one focus.
     Get to Jared.
She unclenched her fingers from the steering wheel and slammed her palm against the horn. The loud wail brought forth two monks that seemed to be racing from the back with another person. Elizabeth fought for breath and vision and she saw a young man, around her age come running for the car from the back of the home.
Without further thought, she slammed both her feet on the brakes. The seatbelt locked and momentarily knocked the wind from her. The car pitched sideways and slid until it finally stopped. Elizabeth couldn’t move. Her body seemed to take on a tremor as her forehead pressed against the wheel and she allowed the ugly tears to flow with abandon. She figured she had refrained from breaking down this long, why not have a good cry?
A mixture of relief and sadness poured through her soul and out of her tearducts. She knew deep down that this was only a reprieve. Like he said, he would find her again. She couldn’t hide. Elizabeth simply delayed the inevitable.
The driver door being jerked open distracted her internal musings. She heard panting breaths. Her own and someone else’s. Out of the corner of her eye, she spied the young man crouching next to her. A tentative hand reached out and rested on her knee.
“Bethy?” The masculine whisper held a note of promise that brought her head up and her gaze over to his.
For that moment she stopped breathing. In this minute of despair she felt the corner of her lips curve up at the devastating man gazing back at her with a look of such heart-pounding concern she could die now and know that someone gave a shit.
     “Jared,” she sobbed.
Half of his lips quirked up and she released a highly unattractive laugh/sob. Elizabeth’s chest heaved as the odd spasm took over and her trembling fingers reached for the belt.
“Here, I got it,” he whispered.
     He was perfect.
     Beautiful.
He was all man, with longish dark hair that reached his shoulders. The natural waves throughout made him look like he was from a different time. His deep brown eyes were like black pools that reflected her own pain, yet had a hint of playfulness. His jaw was speckled in a few days’ worth of growth. His face, oh that handsome face. He wasn’t chiseled like Asmodeus; no, he was natural, unblemished. His jaw was strong and wide. A boyish charm glowed from him that made her wish for a life she would never have. A life that was easy, where she could date men like him. Where men like him could even break her heart. The white t-shirt he wore hid nothing. He was broad, with muscles that rippled as he reached over her body and released the seat belt.
Jared carefully reached in, sliding an arm under her knees and behind her back, pulling her from the car. She felt all that strength--sinews, muscles, and power--as he tugged her against his chest. Elizabeth nuzzled against his neck and allowed his warm and fresh scent to consume her. She memorised him in that moment. He smelled like fresh air, sweat, and man. He didn’t coat himself in anything fake. He was just--Jared.
Her fingers fisted the front of his shirt and she heard him chuckle.
“Happy to see me, Bethy?” His laughter pierced her heart and she wished with all that she was that she could have him.
Elizabeth knew in that moment. Her heart wouldn’t be allowed his. She couldn’t doom him to this life. She would stay out the month, figure out a way to break this bullshit debt, and give him his life back.
     “You have no idea.”

With that she snuggled in closer as he took her into the home.

Excerpt
“I think right now the one thing you need to do is sleep, darlin’.” He nuzzled her neck, pressing his lips where it curved into her shoulder. “It’s late and you never look like you sleep as well as you should. Tomorrow is soon enough for you to worry about how somebody else’s tragedy has to ruin your life.” “It’s already ruined mine.” Slowly, she turned around and lifted her hands, curling them in the soft, worn material of his shirt, pressing her head against his chest. The smell of him flooded her head. Warm man, something spicy—the soap he wore or aftershave—she liked it. Rubbing her cheek against him, she murmured, “It’s ruined my life for years and I’m tired of it. I don’t want to let it ruin my life anymore. That’s why I’m trying to figure out what to do next.” “I already told you. Sleep.” He rubbed his lips against hers and then said quietly, a thread of steel in his voice, “Tomorrow, we find answers. For now, though…” He slid his hands down her back, cupped them around her hips. He boosted her up and when she twined her legs around him, it was a sweet, sweet bliss. “Maybe the answer to that is think about you. You’ve lived your life day by day, always thinking about keeping your secrets. We need to figure out how you can reclaim your life, but you can’t do that in the dead of night. So for now…think about you. What you need.” He dipped his head and caught her lower lip between his, bit her lightly. “What do you need?” A slow shudder wracked her body and he decided he liked it. As he lifted his head to peer down into her eyes, she stared up at him, her eyes cloudy and heated. “Are you suggesting that maybe the answer to this lies in getting naked?”

Zack Love graduated from Harvard College, where he studied mostly literature, psychology, philosophy, and film. After college, he moved to New York City and took a corporate consulting job that had absolutely nothing to do with his studies. The attacks of September 11, 2001 inspired him to write a novelette titled "The Doorman," and heightened his interest in the Middle East. A decade later, that interest extended to the Syrian Civil war, which provided the backdrop for his latest work. In late 2013, Zack began releasing his unpublished works of fiction and became a full-time author. He has published comedy, psychological and philosophical fiction, and romance. Zack enjoys confining himself to one genre about as much as he likes trying to sum up his existence in one paragraph.

Sebastian Trovato...
“Want a tour?” I asked, pressing my lips to the soft skin of her neck.
“Yeah,” she said, sounding a little breathless.
Reluctantly, I released her so I could show her around. It wasn’t that I wanted to give her a grand tour of the house I would be moving out of in the near future, but it was that or toss her over my shoulder and carry her to my bedroom. I wasn’t a patient man, but with Payton, I knew I had to make a concession. The last thing I wanted to do was scare her off.
So, we made our way to the kitchen. I didn’t use the area often, mainly because I wasn’t much of a cook and living alone, it just wasn’t a place I spent a lot of time. The stainless steel appliances were state of the art and picked out by my stepmother. They looked good with the modern white cabinets and black granite countertops, also designed by Lauren. The decorations that sat on the tops of the counters weren’t my idea either, but since the housekeeper dusted and cleaned once a week, I didn’t bother to toss them into a cabinet. Like I said, this was the room I probably spent the least amount of time in.
“What’s in your refrigerator?” Payton asked, grinning at me before releasing my hand. “Are you hungry?” I asked, confused by her question.
“Nope. But what’s in the refrigerator tells a lot about a person.”
“That right?” I’d never heard that before.
And I wasn’t sure the few things in my refrigerator were going to say a lot about me.
Especially since I didn’t do my own grocery shopping either. “Orange juice, yogurt, milk, cheese... water.” Payton glanced back at me, her waist length dark hair sliding over her shoulder and falling down her back. Her smile was radiant and I knew right then that I wanted to see her in my kitchen more often. Not so that she could cook for me or any sexist bullshit like that, just because she made the space that much more welcoming.
“What does that say about me?” I asked, hopping up onto the counter and watching her. “It says you’re boring, Sebastian.”
I chuckled, continuing to watch her rummage through the contents. “Boring, huh?” “No beer?”
“I don’t drink that much. Usually only when I go out.” I hadn’t bothered to mention to Payton that I had a highly addictive personality which was the reason I avoided certain things. I didn’t drink much, rarely at home; I didn’t smoke, although I’d stupidly done so to be cool when I was younger. I’d never tried drugs either. My drug of choice was adrenaline which was why I raced. I released the pent up anger by beating the shit out of the heavy bag in my weight room, knowing that if I didn’t, the undercurrent would eventually invade my life and turn me into someone I didn’t want to look at in the mirror each day.
“Interesting.”
I wanted to know just what was going through her head, but I didn’t get to ask because she was on a roll.
“Do you eat cereal?” Payton closed the refrigerator door and opened the freezer.
“Sometimes. Would that make me less boring?”
“Maybe. At least you’ve got ice cream.”
“I do?” I really had no idea.
“Vanilla,” she said, grinning widely. “Imagine that.”
“I’ll have to remember to add chocolate to the grocery list,” I told her, remembering the first time I took her out for ice cream.
“You do that. Get chocolate syrup while you’re at it.”
Yep, my ass hopped right down off that counter so damn fast it was a wonder I didn’t face plant on the gray travertine floor. “Alrighty, then. Time to see another room.” I grabbed her hand and tugged her into the formal living room, shifting uncomfortably as my jeans became just a little too tight.

If you are wondering who I am, then I'm here to tell you. Timberlyn is the sweeter alter ego of New York Times bestselling author Nicole Edwards.

I can hear the question now... Why? Why do you have another pen name?

It actually came about when a storyline developed in my head. As I saw it coming together, I knew it was vastly different than what Nicole Edwards writes. So, it was then that I was created.

Anyway... Thanks for stopping by. I'm so glad you did.
