Forgiving Lies by Molly McAdams Review

Forgiving Lies Synopsis:
A matter of secrets...
Undercover cop Logan "Kash" Ryan can't afford a distraction like his new neighbor Rachel Masters, even if she's the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. To catch a serial killer, he needs to stay focused, yet all he can think about is the feisty, long-legged coed whose guarded nature intrigues him

A matter of lies...
Deceived and hurt before, Rachel would rather be a single, crazy cat lady than trust another guy, especially a gorgeous, tattooed bad boy with a Harley, like Kash. But when his liquid-steel eyes meet hers, it takes all of Rachel's will-power to stop herself from exploring his hot body with her own.

A matter of love...
As much as they try to keep it platonic, the friction between them sparks an irresistible heat that soon consumes them. Can Kash keep Rachel's heart and her life safe even as he risks his own? Will she be able to forgive his lies ... or will she run when she discovers the dangerous truth?

Review: Molly McAdams is known for giving me the angst and the love. I am still not over Taking Chances and From Ashes is always going to be in my Top 5 fave books ever. This one.....not like a Molly book I have ever read. You will either love this book or not, that is for sure. That shows she has range in her writing, but it also shows that if you read her books expecting to always have a Harper/Chase kind of love, you will be sadly disappointed. Meet Rachel and roommate/BFF Candice, two girls from California who leave for Texas and college at the age of 18. Meet Blake, Candice's cousin and resident asshole. Meet Logan (Kash) and Mason, two undercover cops sent to Texas on a case. So far so good, right? Not. I was very surprised by the rape scene at the beginning and more so by the fact that the guy that did it she'd known forever and had previously really liked. He seemed normal and friendly and as soon as Candice tries to set the two of them up on a date as BFF with cousin, that she just does not allow Rachel to say no to, Blake turns into a possessive and violent creep. I had an issue with the believability of this but it did not deter me- I kept going. So, Blake follows Rachel inside her room late one night and assaults her only to have Candice come home and basically just miss catching Blake doing anything wrong. He plays it off as if he saved Rachel from an assault and was just taking care of her until Candice came home. To Candice, Blake hangs the moon, so she will not hear anything against him when Rachel tries to tell her that Blake raped her. Candice calls Rachel a bitch and a liar, and they stay BFFs and move into an apartment together just a few weeks later. Um, ok.....keep reading. In comes Logan and Mason, who move across the hall from Rachel and Candice and immediately sparks fly, especially with Logan and Rachel, just not like you'd expect. Rachel tries her best to be the biggest bitch possible to Logan and find fault in all he says and does, but he calls her on all her shit and the dialogue between the two is the best part of reading this book. Their chemistry erases any doubts you have when reading about the rest of the story. Candice would never have been my best friend after what happened with Blake and the cliffhanger made me curse but overall, it is Molly and she is an evil genius as an author and earned these five stars like a mofo. Any time while reading when something made me mad or I had to throw the Kindle, I went to deduct from my rating and in the next chapter Molly would reel me back in and earn it all back. Talk about your emotional rollercoaster reading- this was that for me. Fun at times, emotional at others, scenes to make you laugh and others that just piss you off- loved it and will be starting Deceving Lies ASAP. <3 Kellie

Deceiving Lies Synopsis:
The irresistible, blazing-hot sequel to New York Times bestselling author Molly McAdams's Forgiving Lies.

Rachel is supposed to be planning her wedding to Kash, the love of her life. After the crazy year they've had, she's ready to settle down and live a completely normal life. Well, as normal as it can be. But there's something else waiting—something threatening to tear them apart.

Kash is ready for it all with Rach. Especially if all includes having a football team of babies with his future wife. With his line of work, he knows how short life can be, and doesn't want to waste another minute of theirs. But now his past as an undercover narcotics agent has come back to haunt him ... and it's the girl he loves who's caught in the middle.

Trent Cruz's orders are clear: take the girl. But there's something about this girl that has him changing the rules and playing a dangerous game to keep her safe. When his time as Rachel's protector runs out, he will turn his back on the only life he's known, and risk everything, if it means getting her out alive.

About Molly McAdams:
Molly McAdams grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband and furry daughter. Her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling and long walks on the beach, which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. When she's not at work, she can be found hiding out in her bedroom surrounded by her laptop, cell, Kindle and fighting over the TV remote. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies, fried pickles and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm...or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.
