Stepbrother Dearest
By Penelope Ward
Release Date:
September 29, 2014
Book Summary:
You’re not supposed to want
the one who torments you.
When my stepbrother, Elec,
came to live with us my senior year, I wasn’t prepared for how much of a jerk
he’d be.
I hated that he took it out
on me because he didn’t want to be here.
I hated that he brought
girls from our high school back to his room.
But what I hated the most
was the unwanted way my body reacted to him.
At first, I thought all he
had going for him were his rock-hard tattooed abs and chiseled face. Then,
things started changing between us, and it all came to a head one night.
Just as quickly as he’d come
into my life, he was gone back to California.
It had been years since I’d
seen Elec.
When tragedy struck our
family, I’d have to face him again.
And holy hell, the teenager
who made me crazy was now a man that drove me insane.
I had a feeling my heart was
about to get broken again.
Stepbrother Dearest is a
standalone novel.
**Contains graphic sexual
content and harsh language. It is only appropriate for adult readers age 18+

5 HUGE STARS
Penelope Ward’s Stepbrother Dearest is quite possible her best book yet. I have read most of her books and this is my favorite. It grabbed me from page one. I fell in love with the characters of Elec and Greta. I could feel their emotions jumping off the pages. This story sucked me in. I loved it! Such a risque topic and absolutely delicious!
Stepbrother Dearest is told in two parts. In Part One, you’re told the story of when they are younger. It starts when they are sixteen and seventeen years old. This is when Elec comes to live with his father and his new stepmother and stepsister, Greta. Greta and Elec immediately have a love/hate relationship. So you feel the sexual tension between the two. Yet there is so much angst. Elec is really a tortured soul. Part Two is about eight years down the road. Many things have happened in their lives but yet fate has brought them together again. Greta is living life but not fully. She has never gotten over Elec and when she sees him again she realizes she probably never will. Elec still feels something for Greta but he’s moved on. Or so he thinks. One night changed things for them once, can it do it again?
Reading about the two of them was amazing. I felt many feelings – you will be kept wondering what’s going to happen with this couple. You’ll laugh, you will cry. And you will have a book hangover...because if you’re like me you will stay up all night reading it. One of the best books I’ve read this year. A must read! - Lesley Peck for Eye Candy Bookstore
