This book was nothing like I thought it would be, not that I had any idea what it was going to be- I don't read book synopsis because I feel like it gives me a preconceived notion of what I am going to read. I'd rather be completely blown away by a story, and by this one I was. Claire grew up with next to nothing, bouncing from a drunken mother to multiple foster homes, to being tossed out on her own on her 18th birthday. She worked in a diner just to survive, living in her car and bathing in bathrooms wherever she could. Meeting Robert, rich, powerful, over 20 years her senior, was nothing she ever expected to have happen. The following few weeks are a whirlwind and Claire finds herself questioning everything and everyone, including herself. This is a must read- I loved it and could almost see this as a movie it was so well developed; I could picture each character in each moment of the story and that does not often happen. I have now read every book by KA Robinson, and can say, she has yet to disappoint. ~ Kellie
