VIP by M. Robinson Review 12/27/13

**** Caution contains adult language, sex, and drug use --- for mature readers only ****
If you are completely against reading about infidelity, this book is not for you. I had so many emotions while reading this story. The story follows the lives of two people Ysabelle Telle and Sebastian Vanwell. It totally screwed with my mind and I loved it. I didn’t know if I should hate the main characters, love them, or feel sorry for them? This book was emotional, it starts off a little slow with the childhood stories of the two main characters, but you need to understand how they got to where they are. The story picks up the pace about a third of the way in and if you are fan of passionate, steamy, sometimes dirty sex scenes, you will not be disappointed.

Ysabelle‘s childhood is very sad, she has a horrible mother that is a prostitute. Most nights of her childhood she goes to bed hungry and alone. When she is just 12 years old she has a horrible experience with one of her mother’s johns. This is when she realizes she needs to fend for herself and to stop wishing for love from her mother. Ysabelle starts using her body to get things she needs (food, clothes, money) from the boys at school, but she is always in control of the situation. At 16 she runs away from her mother and her horrible life to Miami, where she ends up getting a job in a bar working for a man names Devon. Ysabelle starts making a decent life for herself and everything is going good, but she feels like something is missing. While working at the bar she meets Madam, who is the owner of the business VIP. Madam persuades Ysabelle to become a VIP escort.

Sebastian Vanwell is an only child of wealthy couple; he has a very good childhood. His best friend is Julia, the daughter of family friends that he has known from the day she was born. The two of them are inseparable and completely love each other. When he is 12 and Julia is 10, Julia’s parents decide to adopt another child. When Sebastian sees Olivia for the first time, he knows things will never be the same. Olivia, Julia, and Sebastian are the Three Musketeers, but Sebastian knows that his relationship with Olivia is different from his and Julia’s; he is in love with her and her with him. The two of them keep their true feelings from Julia and try to keep to themselves through the years. Until one night all their lives change.
Years later, Sebastian meets Ysabelle at an event on one his client’s yacht.  He is very taken aback by her appearance and she has a strange pull to him as well. Through the twists and turns, their lives intertwine. She is the addiction he cannot get out of his mind, body, and soul. She has never believed in love, but she starts to have feelings for him. This isn’t your normal love story; it is raw, gritty, and emotional.

Schizoaffective disorder: a mental illness in which a person experiences a combination of mood disorder and schizophrenia symptoms.
I know about this illness—very well—because I suffer from it. It’s been four years since my diagnosis, and ever since, I’ve been living in a dark hole. Voices constantly invading my thoughts. Hallucinations. All of which force me to question if what I’m experiencing is even reality.
But here I am, still hanging on, still breathing and living through it.
That is, until he stumbled into my life. Logan Reed. I don’t want any part of him. I’ve pushed him away, but he isn’t easily deterred. I’ve told him I’m different, but he doesn’t care. He’s trying to slowly break me down. I’m trying just as hard not to let him. He doesn’t know how truly damaged I am; what will happen when he does?
I know the truth—he’ll never be able to look at me the same way again. Just like everybody else.

David Michael: Blessed Promo

**Cover Art and Design Copyright Louisa Maggio. All cover images remain the property of David Michael.

Her twenty-first birthday was supposed to be the beginning of a new chapter. She had been preparing herself for the moment she would be a real adult for months.
There was no way she could have prepared herself for what happened instead.
As her nightmares became more real with each night and her behavior became less like her own, Ardra fought to stay on the path she had so painstakingly planned for herself with very little success.
When she becomes the owner of a creepily-human dog named Kaiser, she finds herself oddly at peace with the unexpected addition to her household and clings tightly to him when tragedy strikes and shatters her world.
As she fights to put the pieces back together without losing herself in the Darkness that is building inside of her with each terrible step off of her path, a rag-tag band of supporters rally behind her. Each one of them prepared to go to the ends of the earth and back
She must find a way to defeat the Chaos that has consumed her life or risk losing everyone and everything that she has left. Including her soul.

Living In Sin by Isabel Lucero Review: 12/23/13

Living in Sin
I was lucky enough to be chosen by Isabel Lucero to receive an ARC of “Living in Sin”. It was amazing, if you love steamy romances but want something with a different back story, this book is a must have! The first chapter of the book is probably one of the hottest, steamiest things I have read, and I think I fell in love! Jace Jamison is a man who gets what he wants, when he wants, how he wants and the women who want him… pay him, because he is a male escort in Sin City (Las Vegas).

Jace Jamison is every woman’s fantasy come true. He is gorgeous, sexy, wealthy and charming. While he is leaving one of his “jobs”, he spots beautiful woman who catches his eye. Adrienne is a beautiful event planner that has a semi-boring life. She tells her best friend Emilie about this beautiful man she has seen a couple of events but he is always with a different woman. She thinks he is a GLC (God-like creature) but has come to the conclusion that he is a player. As luck would have it, Em (who is hilarious and outgoing) run into Jace, Adrienne tries to steer clear, but Jace has other ideas.
As the story goes on, you also get to meet the “guys”, Jace’s four friends, who are also escorts that are fun, witty, and have steamy, sexy stories as well. This face paced, erotic romance will keep you on the edge of your seat. There are twist, turns, sex, sadness, anger, excitement, happiness, and humor… this book has it all! You need to add this to your TBR list.
***And bonus… this is the first of the series. I can’t wait to read more about my favorite group of guys!

**This story contains graphic sexual content and strong language. Intended for mature audiences only.**

Jace Jamison is every woman’s fantasy. He’s a mysterious businessman willing to sweep you off your feet, a tattooed bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks, and a sexy friend you want to take that next step with. Jace is everything and anything you want him to be. He’s a highly paid escort.

But nobody knows who Jace really is; the man whose dad abandoned him, whose brother was killed, and who had to take care of his mom at a young age. At the age of nineteen, he was living in Sin City, ready for a life away from stress and struggle.

Adrienne has been having a sexual drought since she broke up with her boyfriend. Even then she wasn’t getting fully satisfied. Being an event planner, she’s constantly working at numerous events. Several times she’s seen a man she can only refer to as the God-like creature at her work functions. He’s devastatingly handsome, tall, and has beautiful eyes, but he’s always with a different woman. The last thing she needs is another player in her life.

After a few chance encounters with Jace, her best friend convinces her to just get some good sex out of him and not worry about who she’s seen him with. But what happens when she finds out that he isn’t dating these women because he wants to, but because he’s paid to?

Keeping his job a secret from Adrienne seems easy at first, but when she begins meeting people he knows in his escort life, and they begin getting closer, he knows he has to tell her before someone else does.

When their worlds entwine, and confessions are made, will they be able to work through it? Will she be able to push aside his sins and focus on the good in him? Will Jace get what he’s never had? A woman who wants him despite what he’s done. Or will living in sin cost him what he never knew he wanted?

*An erotic, contemporary romance*
*Book one in a series, but can be read as a standalone.*

The Promise by SL Jayne Review- 12/21/13

The Promise Review:

My sister wrote this and she knows I tell it like it is so if I hated her book, she'd be the first to hear about it. This was AWESOME and I loved it! I am so proud of how well she articulated this story, blending the stories of two best friends so well together and separately- giving them each their own individual identities in the book.

Ava and Ryless became friends back in Boston as small girls and a pinkie promise one night at a sleepover changes and linked their futures together forever. When they move to California after college to start over away from the pain of the past, running away soon shows itself to be impossible when past, present and future collide.

I am looking forward to part two of this story, with the developing relationship between Rylee and Matt. I see them both having a lot to learn about each other's pasts and growing together into a beautiful future they both deserve. Five stars well deserved Sis- SO proud of you! xoxo Kellie

Synopsis: How far would you go to help your best friend?

Do you remember when you were young, and made pinky promises with your best friend about living together, dating movie stars, being famous and double weddings?

Ava and Rylee had the same plans. Knowing the home life Rylee had, Ava knew that all of those dreams of fun and freedom would always be just that. Dreams. That was until one night, Rylee asked Ava to pinky promise they would move away as soon as they were old enough and able to.

Ava's advice to Rylee is to have fun and have faith, but most of all believe in herself and learn to trust that not all guys can't be trusted... But can Ava learn to take herself own advice when it comes to her own heart?

This book is intended for age 17+ due to sexual content, violence and strong language.

About the Author: I love reading, I have way too many book boyfriends and I love to chat! I have a daughter who I love more than the stars. She is my whole life. My mum and sister have and always will be my rocks, they have stood by me through everything I've faced.
I sometimes talk too much, I have huge blonde moments, big freak outs and hyper moments which lead to me being reminded to breathe!

After starting to read again more regularly I met some great girls online through our love of books. Since being an admin on a Facebook book page I have gotten to know some amazing authors and a few of those I now consider great friends.

People keep saying to me "with the amount of books you have read, you could write one yourself!"

So why not? :)

Conklin's Blueprints by Brooke Page Review: 12/20/13

4.5 stars
O-M-G, I love Tyler and Becca. Both the main characters have flaws, (a little Fifty Shades meets Crossfire Series to me), but if they didn’t have flaws, I would have been bored with the story. Who wants to read about to two beautiful, rich people that are perfect and have a perfect relationship?
Becca Stine is a 24 year old college graduate who was dealt a bad hand when her boyfriend Connor cheated on her in her last year of college with her childhood friend Ashlynn. To get over the devastation, she and her best friend Jamie lived it up for a year in Florida. After a frightful encounter in her dangerous lifestyle Becca and Jamie make the move back to Becca’s hometown of Grand Rapids after she accepts a job at Conklin Architecture, Construction, and Design. (She’s a good girl who tried to be bad, who just wants to be loved… ahhh)
Tyler Conklin is a beautiful complex man, he along with his father and brothers, run Conklin Architecture, Construction, and Design. When we first meet him, we realize that there are some underlying problems with him that are going to affect his story. The first realization this is his sexual escapade with his childhood nanny at his grandfather’s funeral. (oh, this guy is going to be awesome to read about.)
I love how Becca and Tyler meet; it reminded me a lot of Gideon and Eva from Crossfire, but with a different twist. They meet at work, Tyler is her bosses’ boss, who is intrigued by the new employee (Becca), and calls her out for her opinion during her first company meeting. The story moves smoothly, the writing great; we really get a feel for Becca and Tyler’s struggles and passion throughout the book.
The only issue I had with Becca is that she can be a little too whiny and insecure at times, but if you think about it, you should be able to completely relate as a woman. How would you feel if your boyfriend cheated on you, with your friend, in your bed, I’d be insecure too? Tyler also has his own demons with his family and relationships, that sometimes I just wanted to slap and he tell him to grow a pair.
The supporting cast of this book was also amazing. I love Jamie’s unwavering support for Becca and the Conklin brother’s family chemistry great. Also, every book needs a bad girl, enter… Ashlynn and a horrible parent – JR Conklin or Missy Stine (take your pick).
I give this book a definite 4.5 stars. If you loved Fifty Shades and the Cross Fire series, this book is defiantly for you!
***This is the first book in the Conklin’s Blueprints Trilogy.

“Let me call a cab quick,” Tyler said, reaching for his pocket.

I gently touched his arm and said, “It’s not too cold, let’s walk. My place isn’t that far away.”

He looked me up and down and raised an eyebrow. “Are you sure? I don’t want to have to carry you half way,” he teased.

“Ha ha ha, I will be fine, and…I’m not wearing heels,” I snickered, lifting my foot and wiggling my toes as though if could see them.

He tried to hide his amusement. “Okay, if you say so.”

We slowly walked downtown amongst the young crowds of clubbers. I snaked my arm threw his and leaned my head on his shoulder as we walked. He flinched at first, but then relaxed into me.

We stopped in the park along the railing, just as we had the first night we went to the coffee shop. I leaned into him, hoping he would wrap his arms around me. I felt so comfortable and confident with alcohol running through me. He shook his head and chuckled. Sliding his fingers up and down my arms he said, “You’re funny when you are drunk.”

I pulled my head back and looked up at him. “I am so not drunk yet,” I said seriously at first then let out a little giggle. He smiled down at me, our faces nearly inches from each other’s. His expression became serious, and his hands slowed running up and down my arms, stopping on my forearms. I never wanted someone to kiss me so badly. I leaned up and closed my eyes, hoping he would get the picture. I felt his nose touch mine then his mouth was on mine. My lips were no longer tingling from the alcohol but tingling from the sensation of his lips working against mine. I allowed his tongue access to my mouth as a slow low groan escaped him. It was like he flicked a switch inside of me with his tongue. I brought my arms up to his head and ran my fingers through his hair. Our bodies flushed together, I noticed his arms were still at his sides. Why wasn’t he touching me?

He slowed down the kiss and gently pulled away, keeping his forehead on mine. I was still breathing heavy.

“I need to get you home,” his voice was raspy, with ulterior meaning. I slowly opened my eyes and turned to start walking. He took my hand and squeezed it, causing me to pick up my pace. He wanted to be alone with me just as badly. I could feel it in his kiss.

Pierced Love by Th Snyder Review: 12/20/13

Zar Evans is not your typical high school senior; in fact she is anything but normal. Dressing in the trendiest Goth fashion, Zar wears nothing but black from head to toe. Not that this warrants unwanted attention, but she is also top in her class and is looking at a full academic scholarship to Iowa State in the fall.

Loudon Clarke is an all star athlete. He plays three varsity sports and has the world in his hands. Except for one thing; Loudon is failing majority of his subjects. He is about to be suspended from the basketball team risking his athletic scholarship.

Zar and Loudon would normally never cross paths, until these two are brought together when Zar’s brother proposes to Loudon’s sister. With an upcoming wedding and a lot of planning Zar and Loudon are stuck with one another regardless of their differences.

Zar has hidden behind the pain she deals with on a daily basis for years. Loudon has never had to feel pain nor the ignorance of his peers. Can opposites really bring these two together or will they be pulled even further apart?

Only one thing is for sure, it is impossible to fight the connection of pierced love when one is willing to change for happiness.

I loved this book! I am not a big YA reader anymore, although I can still be talked to them if they have a really great story- which this one did. Loudon is definitely a book boyfriend to love and Zar is a typical emotional teenager, only her teenage years have not been so typical since the death of her grandmother and her first experience being called "the freak".

This book explores Zar's inner struggles to return to who she used to be and deal with the good in her life to enjoy who she is now. Loudon becomes more than she ever thought possible, as she is so accustomed to no one saying anything nice to her and no guys paying her anything but negative attention- when they are bullying her. I highly recommend this book to everyone, not just teens- I found it to be a very enjoyable read, sex or this case not. ;) Kellie

Perfect Lie by Teresa Mummert Review: 12/19/13

Title: Perfect Lie
Author: Teresa Mummert
Blog Tour: December 18th-30th
Release Date: December 17th, 2013

- - - - - - - - - - -

Synopsis: Sometimes love burns so hot in your veins that it consumes all rational thought. That's why Brock and I never had a chance. I had to start my life over. College was my chance to become someone new. I changed everything about myself to fit in, but one person saw through my facade. The attraction between Abel and I was undeniable, but I still hadn't healed from the painful secret I carried around with me. Abel struggled to get me to face my past in order to move forward. In doing so, he revealed a secret of his own; one that changed everything I thought I knew. A secret that would bring Brock back into my life and force me to face the truth of what really happened the day I lost him.

WOW! This one kept me enraptured the entire way and when it ended I asked, "What just happened?". This is definitely not your mama's love story, but it was one I am so glad I read. It deals with heartache and loss, the pressures of being different and trying to fit in to avoid being bullied. It is such a good book I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed it and to avoid giving you too much and ruining your experience, just know that you NEED to read this and fall in love with it all, except maybe Trish because she is just plain nasty.  Lol! No, I take that back, I think Trish helped Lie become stronger and helped her realize what and who she did NOT want to be so I can see her worth in that sense. Anyway, read this book- I promise you will never see coming what happens in the end. Five stars Teresa, you are a genius! <3 Kellie

Kellan Kyle Interview with Eye Candy Bookstore

Interview with Kellan Kyle

Mornin' Kellan Kyle! Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed by us Eye Candy Bookstore ladies today for our page and your many adoring fans!

Is there anything you'd like to start out by saying to the ladies? Carrie has a request for you to say "Mornin" to everyone. Lol! ;) Um, well, I guess I’ll start with mornin’ then. Mornin’, ladies. How’s it going?

We just have a few questions for you whenever you are ready!

Question #1: Toski asks- What made you decide to get involved with music? Who influenced this decision? I suppose that was my parents’ doing. They gave me a guitar to keep me…entertained…and it just felt right. It felt good.

Question #2: Carrie wants to know when you began your love affair with coffee? Lol! I don’t know if I would go so far as to say “love affair”, but it seems like everybody drinks it here, so I’m around it a lot…and it’s delicious. It’s warm, smells good, and feels amazing going down my throat first thing in the morning. What’s not to love?

Question #3: What are your feelings about Denny? We all decided "toolbag" was a good nickname for him. Toolbag? What? That’s not very nice, girls. I think Denny is a truly great guy. He didn’t deserve any of the shit that happened to him, and I’m just thankful that he felt guilty enough for kicking my ass that he forgave me. Eventually.

Question #4: What is the craziest thing a fan has ever sent you or said to you? Well, that depends. What’s crazy, what’s normal? I’ve had girls offer to blow me before they’ve even offered their names. To me, that’s normal. On the crazy scale…I did get cornered by a girl in a wedding dress once. She told me that she wasn’t leaving my side until we were married. She even had handcuffs on her. I managed to get away from her, but now Griffin likes to hum the wedding march song to freak me out. So not funny.

Question #5: If you had to choose ONE song that is not yours to describe your relationship with Kiera, what would it be? Just one? That’s difficult…we’ve had so many ups and downs. How about “Won’t Stop” by OneRepublic? Yeah, that sums up a lot for me.

Question #6: Sarah asks- OMG the car scene, you were pissed, really pissed. What made you stay and call the truce the next morning? I don't think many guys would have stuck around if they were in your position.... What I did and said was awful. I owed her an apology. And…I loved her. I couldn’t leave.

Question #7: Tell us about your band mates, one thing about each of them that they'd probably kill you for telling us? Ah, are you trying to break up the band? I would never spill private stuff like that. You will never get me to say that Griffin has, on occasion, pranced around the bus in Anna’s underwear. Never. Please don’t make me relive that moment…

Question #8: When you first saw Keira at Pete's what was your instant thought? That she was one of the most beautiful girls that I’d ever seen. Tell us in your own words what it was like for you at the espresso stand. Intense. Confusing. Emotional. It all worked out for the best, but that was a really hard moment for me.

Question #9: You just about lost your shit when you found the pregnancy tests, if they were in fact Keira's, thinking back on it now, what would you have done? Fuck, I don’t know. I probably would have raised the baby with her. Or not, if she didn’t want me to. Jesus, I don’t want to think about that. Next question.

Question #10: Hmmm, is this a Kellan-choice question? All right… Kellan, what are your plans for the holiday? Well, Kellan, that’s a very personal question, but I guess I’ll answer it. Kiera and I rented a cabin in the woods for the week before Christmas. We’re going to trek through the snow, drink hot chocolate by the fire, and potentially be eaten by wild animals. Wish us luck.

Away by BA Wolfe Review: 12/18/13

Away by B.A. Wolfe

Carrie's Review
You know those special moments in your life that you never forget?! The moments that give you so much anxiety your heart feels like it is going to burst..the butterflies as big as bats in your belly...that was me the entire time I read Away! I can't even put into words as the tears fall how emotionally attached I am to this book!

Ok..ok..I'll suck it up and get on with it!

Cassie is on her way to visit her best friend Melanie after making some mistakes in her life that she can't take back. Melanie is the only person that Cassie has that understands her, and what she is going through. You will love Cassie immediately! She has had a lot handed to her but she stays strong through it all. I felt for her though. I knew she was keeping her pain bottled up and eventually it needed out. While making her way to see Mel Cassie wrecks and ends up having to stay in a little town with her nurse Trish she meets at the hospital, and her family for a few days until her car gets fixed. This is how she meets Jason. He just so happens to be who helped her during her wreck and Trish's son.

Im going to try really hard to get through this review without crying like a newborn baby!

Jase- if there were ever a man I'd want my daughters to find one day it would be a Jase! He is the kindest, sweetest, most caring man I think I have ever read about! He puts Cassie needs first! Cassie is harboring secrets and Jase knows them, but he wants Cassie to be comfortable telling him the truth. Jase has a huge secret too. This secret stopped my heart! I warn you there will be tears! They are all worth it though. Just getting to spend time with these characters you won't regret a single minute of reading Away. Jase had me at Sweetheart and Darlin! Who doesn't love a cowboy?? Right?? Ahhh! Love him! He will steal your heart and NEVER give it back. Be prepared to add him to your BB list now. He will be staying there I promise you.

As their relationship develops and their bond grows stronger you will be like OMG is this real? Why??? Nooooo!!!! Please!!!!! <---- that was me! I swear I really thought I could stop it somehow! I knew it was going to happen but you're never really ready for it! All those emotions you can't turn off will happen!

You will love the friends in this book too..Moose and Mel are hilarious and I want more of them please. I don't think I disliked any character except when Anna Jasons Ex comes back to town but Cassie puts her right in her place and it was great.

Here are some of my highlights

"Tell me you feel it Jase. You feel your heart on fire every time we get close. That you try not to even think because all you want to think about is what it would feel like to have our lips touch again, knowing it will be just as earth shattering as the first." <------ swoon city!

"What's the best memory you have?" "You picked a tough one he said taking a deep breath. "But I'd have to say I finally have one that I'm sure can never be replaced. Meeting you and seeing your pretty face in that car when I came to your rescue." <----- Could this man get any sweeter? Stick a fork in me I'm done! Goodness sakes...

Getting lost and meeting me was just the beginning Sweetheart. Now, my pretty girl, it's time to write away. Green light, Jase~ <------ the tears fell hard here and you will see why as you read!

There are so many more I love but I would be here all day so I'll let you read to see the rest! Please go read this amazing book. The chemistry is off the charts! There's a HOT rain/library scene that will leave you speechless.

I give Away 5 HUGE glittery stars! I would give more if I could!! It deserves more. Loved it from start to finish! Thank you B.A.Wolfe for sharing this with us. Can't wait for book two. "To Cassie.Write Away Sweetheart." <----- I had no words...Loved! Green light B.A. always ;)

Chasing the Wild Sparks Review: 12/18/13

Chasing the Wild Sparks

“Chasing the Wild Sparks” follows the relationship ups and downs of Hadley Beckett, “Becks” and Finn Wilder.
Hadley Beckett is a 33 year old woman who is in a relationship with her longtime boyfriend Finn Wilder.  She is ready to settle down, she wants to get married and have children. The problem is that Finn, star sports caster and resident dare devil, is completely against both. Hadley has always been okay with where their relationship stands, but lately she is feeling her biological clock ticking and with the secretive nature of their relationship, she wants more of a commitment--- Marriage.  Finn tells Hadley he is ready for the next step, moving in together, but doesn’t think he ever wants to be married. The problem is, Hadley doesn’t’ want to just be his live-in girlfriend forever.
Hadley’s friends Greg (Rod) and Morgan keep telling Hadley she needs to talk with Finn about what she wants, give him an ultimatum. Hadley is skeptical until Morgan tells all of them her relationship news. Hadley is shocked by Finn’s reaction to the news and needing time to process this, she runs to be alone. Finn catches up to her and while they are having a heated conversation about their future, a co-worker and his wife happen upon them. When Finn chokes and can’t introduce her as his girlfriend, Hadley realizes she has had enough of Finn’s procrastination. Will Finn ever be ready for marriage and children?
This story is in both Hadley and Finn’s perspective, and gives you insight to what each other is really thinking.  Greg and Morgan add a flare to the story with their colorful, funny banter and their true friendship to Hadley. I loved every word of this story and can’t wait to read the second book in the series “Daring the Wild Sparks” to see what happens with my new favorite couple, Hadley& Finn and their amazingly witty friends!

She currently lives in Detroit, Michigan with her husband, two daughters and two cats.

"Chasing the Wild Sparks" is Ren's first novel.
