Jacquelyn Ayres author of Goodbye Caution and Goodbye Secrets Promo

For anyone that has yet to meet Jacquelyn you are in for a treat.  This is her official author bio!
I am a Domestic Engineer (born and raised in NJ) whose sole responsibility is to guide three young impressionable kids into becoming phenomenal adults. This challenging, yet rewarding work requires a lot of love (coffee), patience (wine) and determination (periodic exorcisms). I work all of this magic in the beautiful state of New Hampshire. Before becoming a Domestic Goddess (not really), I spent over a decade working in the medical field where I wore more hats than the Queen. I have had a love for the written word and the great escape it provides since I was a little girl. When I wasn't reading about people and the places they lived, I was creating my own characters and adventures. Finally, I have been putting a pen to paper allowing my characters to come to life. When I don't have a pen and paper in hand, you can often find me laughing at the conversations my characters are having in my head.
Now she forgets to add into that that she is, in the very best way possible, as crazy as a box of frogs, once she gets to know you, you can expect……..

She is honestly one of the most ‘giving’ people we have ever come across and here at BNW we are happy to call her our friend.
And –she’s as you may have guessed, an author!!
You need to check out her work!!

Goodbye Caution (lost and found #1) released in January
Becca Campbell is a mother, friend, and widow to a war hero (may he rot in hell). She just wants to raise her daughter right and keep her bed-and-breakfast afloat in this economy. Her traumatic past leaves her with no desire for a relationship—until Grayson James walks through her door. He’s not the type of man you can easily say “no” to. Becca can’t quite understand the pull she feels toward him. But then his controlling nature starts to push her away—and into Ray McNeil’s comforting arms. Which is right where Ray has always wanted her. Who will Becca choose? Will she finally give in to her feelings for Ray, or continue the tumultuous relationship with Grayson? Only one thing is certain—either choice will mean saying goodbye to caution.

Jacquelyn has lots of other works in progress too! Check out our interview with her to see what’s coming up!
Hi Jacquelyn and welcome to the virtual HQ of BNW!  Im sorry for the mess *shuffles tour packets and Arcs out of the way*
So my first question starts at the beginning with Goodbye Caution. It’s an unusual book, very fast paced, and it touches on some risqué subjects. Where did the idea for Goodbye Caution come from?
When I think back to the very beginning stages of Goodbye Caution, I can't help but chuckle. The Elm Creek Quilt novels by Jennifer Chiaverini inspired me, actually. This wonderful series is based around women who've built their friendships from their common love of quilting. Being a scrap booker myself, I could see the potential in building a series around the love of scrapping. So Becca Campbell and her lovely Bed and Breakfast (that host Scrapbooking weekends) were born. However, once she was, she sort of took over the reigns.
It was not going to be as wholesome as it was set out to be. Becca turned into your everyday, quirky, fun-loving kind of person. I wanted her to be relate-able. Look like most women, have real issues and love the things that other women love. So she's the girl next door with a heart of gold, a great sense of humour, and an effed up past.
Grayson can be demanding, all consuming and overpowering at times, how did you manage to make him so likeable and hot at the same time?
You know, I think having his POV the entire story makes him likeable (to most). I was actually shocked as to how many women are on Team Grayson! He can be a right bastard! But the fact that you get to see his thoughts on things softens him around the edges. You know that he isn't happy with the way he behaves. He has a lot of remorse over his actions and he does try to correct his behaviour a lot. I think if readers didn't see that, there would be a lot more for Team Ray! As far as his hotness is concerned, who doesn't love a confident man? Confidence and sense of humour are a sure fire fit for likeability and hotness!
I think you are right; his acceptance of his mistakes is a very likeable attribute. You've brought us nicely onto Ray........so similar to Gray yet so different. I struggled throughout Goodbye Caution flitting between rooting for Ray, and not. Have you had that response a lot?
Yes I have. Ray is a great character and swoon worthy in his own right. He's not as abrasive as Grayson but you can tell he's a man's man! He's got that rugged charm and great sense of humour. He's calmer than Gray is.
I, of course, happen to love them both.
The readers will learn a lot more about Ray in the next two books and I think everyone in general will be on the fence once again!
People cant wait for Book 2, the very title Goodbye Secrets hints that lots of questions will be answered! Can you tell people a little about your writing process? Do you pre-plan your books or did the idea come to you in dribs and drabs?
I think a little bit of both now that I have quite a few under my belt (not all published yet). For The Lost & Found Series, I had the idea that I mentioned and it just took over from there. Most of the time, that's how it is. The different paths my characters lead me down always surprise me. Though I get ideas for books, I just jot the idea down. I'm not one who outlines the story because I never know where the story is actually going to lead me. I do jot down conversations that happen between characters that are not necessarily happening at the part of the book I'm writing. It will usually get weaved in later when it's appropriate.
Fun Fact, by the way, this series was not only hand written but it was written as one entire book! lol. I typed it all up and said....uhh...no! This is three books, not one. It could've been stretched to 4 or 5 due to the size of the first two, but I didn't want to drag it out for people.
Hand written? In one huge book? Thats so funny! You must have been engrossed in the story!!
It’s no secret that the series deals with aggressive characters and spousal abuse and the fact that some of the proceeds are donated to a charity to help abused women and children shows it’s a subject you feel strongly about. Can you tell us a little about why you went in this direction and how you do your research?
Yes! It took up residence in several notebooks that I carried around with me EVERYWHERE! Engrossed is an understatement! I lived, breathed, and slept this story.
As far as some of the elements in this book regarding abuse, yes it is something that I do feel strongly about. Most of us, I think, can relate to Becca's character whether we have been the subject of one's abuse or have witnessed a loved one go through it. I knew that when I was creating Becca's character that she would have survived an abusive relationship.
However, being a student of psychology and knowing several different people with various shades of abuse in their background, I wanted to take her character to a different level. What readers need to understand about Becca is that she never gained the strength to walk away (or run) from her abusive husband. She was pulled out of that situation by the powers that be, if you will. So, in return, her psyche is very different than that of a person who did walk away. Though she's kept her distance from other possible relationships, she never really "unlearned" the behaviour patterns of an abused woman.
That is why we see her fall so easily into an obsequious roll. The great thing about Becca, though, is that she does grow through out the series and we all see this when she questions her own reactions to Grayson's temperament. Then she starts putting her foot down. Like I said before, I was surprised as to how many people fell in love with Grayson, but just like Becca, everyone can see that he really isn't mean spirited. His insecurities tend to get in the way of his judgement. I think people will enjoy learning more about Grayson and the reasons behind his behaviour in book #2.
And for your final question, it is also important to know that while I have personal knowledge of this sort of behaviour pattern, I've also confirmed it with a Licensed Social Worker (therapist) who has worked with abused women for over thirty years. Though my book is fiction, I would never write about such a sensitive topic without any knowledge or proper research.
And yes, a portion of my proceeds goes to Emily's Place which is a local shelter, near my town, that is run by YWCA.org. If you would like to donate the YWCA or see how you can help by volunteering, please go to their website to see how you can help!
Obviously being careful of spoilers can you tell us what type of scene you enjoy writing the most??
I love writing from the male POV. Some authors have a difficult time doing it but I find it very freeing and fun. It's boring to act like a "lady" all of the time. But you asked about what type of scenes. I love writing the heart to heart scenes when you really get to the bottom of things. That's when a character truly shines for me!
If you absolutely had to, would you be team Grayson or Ray? You HAVE to.......
OMG . . . I really can't! You can't make me! I love them both too much!
LOL Ok I won’t make you......
What have you got in store for your readers?
I'm so excited about this year! There are so many things happening that will be leading right into 2015! Right now I am in the middle of finishing off my novella for The Southern Seduction box set that 12 of us Indie Romance Author Chicks are collaborating on. Very excited for that! We will be releasing that on April 14, 2014.
Roughly around the same time, I will be releasing the last instalment of The Lost & Found Series. However, I think we will hear from Becca again in a prequel as the requests are already coming in.
In June, I will be introducing my newest series to everyone called The GEG series. These will all be standalones based around 5 best girlfriends (2 being sisters). Each book will focus on one of the friends but still have the others intertwined. As with my other books, I touch upon a subject that causes great grief in the first instalment, but it's not a dark read like Caution and Secrets can be at times.
So far "Under Contract", which is the first book based on Mitch and Charlotte, has been the most fun to write! It's really got a lot of obnoxiously, in-your-face, laugh-out-loud moments (well, to me! lol). These characters were so funny to write. It was really great to step into a lighter story after The Lost & Found Series. I am currently working on "In the Mix", the 2nd book.
Other than that, I have been enjoying being a part of an amazing group of indie authors called Indie Romance Author Chicks. We started out as a small sprinting group, cheering each other on. Helping one another to stay positive. It's grown nicely and we continue to keep that positive attitude and try to send those vibes out to others. Speaking of sending things out.... we are formulating a plan to send all or most of us to one fabulous location in 2015 for our first IRAC signing event! We're all very excited about this! Stay tuned!
Oh that will be amazing, any chance it could be my side of the pond??
 I only wish!!!
Well chatting has been an absolute pleasure. The novella sounds exciting and I can’t wait for Goodbye Uncertainty and the GEG series.
Claire, I'd like to thank you for all of these wonderful questions. I really enjoyed myself and appreciate you taking the time! Thank You!

Author Bio

I'm an Ineffable Dom. That just means, do yourself a favor and please don't try to describe me or fit me into your categories. Complicated Dom, Intricate Dom, Confounding Dom work too. I love very much the soft side of a woman. Not just her body, but everything on the inside-- her passion, her intelligence, her convictions, her delicate tenderness. But the one fetish that might be a part of what makes me an Ineffable Dom is that I love her strengths. I love a woman that isn’t afraid to look me in the eyes and say ‘make me’. But I need it to be real, not staged, not pretended. She has to be a fighter at her core the way I’m a Dom at my core. I want an equal that is willing to come hard against me in every sense of the word, exhaust me. I want her so deep inside me that we’re lost in each other. I want her to never doubt that I will always use my power to adore her, protect her, liberate her. I don’t want a woman I can break, or overpower, or exercise my dominance over, I want a woman I can come undone with. I want a woman I can jump off the cliff with into that abyss of holy hell, this is beyond me, beyond my control. The greatest fear of most people is losing themselves or unravelling their roots. My greatest fear is not finding a woman I can take that plunge with. Yes, it’s a huge risk. That’s the yin and the yang of it. And while the risk titillates my Dom, it’s the ineffable fruit of that risk that moves him. He knows he has to have it. He knows he’s supposed to have. And he’s prepared to dominate for it. I think there are many men like myself, and I hope my writing will be a map for them. A map for women as well, to let them know Doms like this exist. I’d like to call them out of the woodwork. Help men join with their natural inner Doms in a way that I think is one of the most fulfilling experiences there are. I want to challenge them all to go for the complete power exchange with a woman, but don’t be a coward and not give the same that they demand or expect. And consider that when you give one hundred percent of yourself to a person, there is no more of you to give away. You now belong to them the way they belong to you. Inner Doms are dogs that need a master to train them. I once bowed to my Dom's reckless and tireless desires, but when I gained control, he bowed to my will. The transformation made me into what I am today. What many would call an Ineffable Dom. But its equal term in the Vanilla world, in my opinion, is a real man.

Forgiving Lies by Molly McAdams Review

Forgiving Lies Synopsis:
A matter of secrets...
Undercover cop Logan "Kash" Ryan can't afford a distraction like his new neighbor Rachel Masters, even if she's the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. To catch a serial killer, he needs to stay focused, yet all he can think about is the feisty, long-legged coed whose guarded nature intrigues him

A matter of lies...
Deceived and hurt before, Rachel would rather be a single, crazy cat lady than trust another guy, especially a gorgeous, tattooed bad boy with a Harley, like Kash. But when his liquid-steel eyes meet hers, it takes all of Rachel's will-power to stop herself from exploring his hot body with her own.

A matter of love...
As much as they try to keep it platonic, the friction between them sparks an irresistible heat that soon consumes them. Can Kash keep Rachel's heart and her life safe even as he risks his own? Will she be able to forgive his lies ... or will she run when she discovers the dangerous truth?

Review: Molly McAdams is known for giving me the angst and the love. I am still not over Taking Chances and From Ashes is always going to be in my Top 5 fave books ever. This one.....not like a Molly book I have ever read. You will either love this book or not, that is for sure. That shows she has range in her writing, but it also shows that if you read her books expecting to always have a Harper/Chase kind of love, you will be sadly disappointed. Meet Rachel and roommate/BFF Candice, two girls from California who leave for Texas and college at the age of 18. Meet Blake, Candice's cousin and resident asshole. Meet Logan (Kash) and Mason, two undercover cops sent to Texas on a case. So far so good, right? Not. I was very surprised by the rape scene at the beginning and more so by the fact that the guy that did it she'd known forever and had previously really liked. He seemed normal and friendly and as soon as Candice tries to set the two of them up on a date as BFF with cousin, that she just does not allow Rachel to say no to, Blake turns into a possessive and violent creep. I had an issue with the believability of this but it did not deter me- I kept going. So, Blake follows Rachel inside her room late one night and assaults her only to have Candice come home and basically just miss catching Blake doing anything wrong. He plays it off as if he saved Rachel from an assault and was just taking care of her until Candice came home. To Candice, Blake hangs the moon, so she will not hear anything against him when Rachel tries to tell her that Blake raped her. Candice calls Rachel a bitch and a liar, and they stay BFFs and move into an apartment together just a few weeks later. Um, ok.....keep reading. In comes Logan and Mason, who move across the hall from Rachel and Candice and immediately sparks fly, especially with Logan and Rachel, just not like you'd expect. Rachel tries her best to be the biggest bitch possible to Logan and find fault in all he says and does, but he calls her on all her shit and the dialogue between the two is the best part of reading this book. Their chemistry erases any doubts you have when reading about the rest of the story. Candice would never have been my best friend after what happened with Blake and the cliffhanger made me curse but overall, it is Molly and she is an evil genius as an author and earned these five stars like a mofo. Any time while reading when something made me mad or I had to throw the Kindle, I went to deduct from my rating and in the next chapter Molly would reel me back in and earn it all back. Talk about your emotional rollercoaster reading- this was that for me. Fun at times, emotional at others, scenes to make you laugh and others that just piss you off- loved it and will be starting Deceving Lies ASAP. <3 Kellie

Deceiving Lies Synopsis:
The irresistible, blazing-hot sequel to New York Times bestselling author Molly McAdams's Forgiving Lies.

Kash is ready for it all with Rach. Especially if all includes having a football team of babies with his future wife. With his line of work, he knows how short life can be, and doesn't want to waste another minute of theirs. But now his past as an undercover narcotics agent has come back to haunt him ... and it's the girl he loves who's caught in the middle.

About Molly McAdams:
Molly McAdams grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband and furry daughter. Her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling and long walks on the beach, which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. When she's not at work, she can be found hiding out in her bedroom surrounded by her laptop, cell, Kindle and fighting over the TV remote. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies, fried pickles and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm...or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.

Lauren Blakely Cover Re-reveals and Promo Blitz

We are so excited to bring to you Lauren Blakely's new covers for CAUGHT UP IN US and PRETENDING HE'S MINE today! Lauren gave us a special message to share with you about why the covers are changing.

Caught Up in Us and Pretending He's Mine are my first two books, and
while I have great affection for the original covers and the way

readers responded to those two romances, I wanted the covers to better
match the look of the rest of my books. I began working with the Sarah
Hansen at Okay Creations starting with Trophy Husband and she went on
to also design Playing With Her Heart's cover as well as my No Regrets
series. I love the work she did on those books, and while she was busy
creating the cover for my next novel, Night After Night (releasing in
May!), I asked Helen Williams at All Booked Out to do a cover makeover
for Caught Up in Us and Pretending He's Mine so that those could match
Playing With Her Heart's look. Helen does amazing work and has done
many graphics for me and other book covers, so I knew she would be
able to do a brilliant redo -- she also redid the covers in only one
weekend!! It was a fast turnaround and I am thrilled with the new
looks, and especially how well all the books play together now. And to
celebrate the redesign as well as the one-year anniversary of
Pretending He's Mine this month, I will be offering Pretending He's
Mine for free on iBooks starting today and through the weekend! (It's
possible Amazon might price match the free offering, but I can't
guarantee what Amazon will do so if you want to read it for free, snag
it on iBooks!)

Aren't they gorgeous? See below for individual pictures of each new cover and all of the information on each, as well as where you can find Lauren and stalk-we mean follow-her!

Interview with Stuart Reardon

Hi, Stu. First let me say, I am beyond thrilled that you agreed to be the face of my character, Colt Harris for the cover of Finding Home. As I've told you, I saw a picture of you a couple of years ago and the whole character of Colt sprang to life from that, which is something that I've never done before. I've always had the character in my head and then searched for someone who fit. I am beyond thrilled that the very man who inspired the character has agreed to represent him on my cover. So, thank you, from the bottom of my heart for that. Thank you. I'm very flattered I was always the character in your book. And thank you for choosing me for the cover, I really hope the book does great for you :) x I know that you are first and foremost a rugby player and athlete. What made you decide to go into modeling? I sort of just fell into modeling. I think being in sports and in good shape fits really well with modeling, and fitness modeling in particular. Being in professional sports already had me in great shape, so stepping into fitness modeling was an easy transition. What's the most unusual pose you've been asked to do? No really unusual poses to date that stick out in my mind. Some of the action shots are tough as it takes time to capture the right shot, so may have to do the same thing over and over again. Another question I know everyone is always asking: is there any particular meaning behind your awesome tattoo? Do the symbols represent something, or was it just a design you said, Hey, that looks cool, I want that? I got my tattoo when I was recovering from a really tough Achilles tendon injury. I had a couple of operations to finally get it right, so it was during that time that I worked out the design with the tattooist and he did the magic. I have always been interested in Tribal designs and culture, so the tattoo reflects that, and it reminds me of that really tough 14 month period in my life: the really low points which made me strong and determined, and a high point when I finally got back fit to play super league again after 14 months of recovery and rehab. I've heard tattoos are addictive. Will you get more or are you done? Yes, tattoos are very addictive, I think I may get some more in the future but I've not decided yet. I know you come to the States for modeling jobs, where all have you been? Yes, I've been to a couple of places in the States, NYC, Miami and LA. Where have you not gone but would like to? I would love to visit Vegas. America is a huge country so I'm sure there are loads of beautiful places to visit. For me, because I'm a Native Texan, I have to ask: have you been to Texas? I have not but I would love to visit Texas :) How does it feel to be a muse for a character in a book? I'm very flattered to be your muse for Finding Home. It's a pleasure to be liked :) When I was looking through pictures of you on the Internet, I came across one where you were holding a guitar. I grew up a Band Geek and love music of all kinds and try to incorporate it in my books when I can. That picture inspired a whole scene in the book, where Colt is stressed about something and picks up his guitar and is idly playing while talking to his girlfriend, Sarah. Do you play? Yes, I play the guitar, not really well, though, I'm still learning. I'm a beginner so it's a working process. Later in the scene, he sings to her. Do you sing? I try to sing but I'm not the best at that either. I need to practice more {Ann: I'm sure all the ladies are feeling what I am right now: *swoon*!!! Stu singing! *sigh* ;)} OK, now let's get personal. Are you ready for this? I'll make it as painless as possible. Lightning round: Are you right or left-handed? Right What's your favorite food? Holding hands or no touch at all Would your girlfriend say you are a Pushover or Alpha male? It's 50/50 I guess. We have give and take or it wouldn't work. I'm an Alpha male but a pushover if she's upset Boxers/briefs/commando? (lol, kidding! You don't have to answer that!) All 3, it depends on the situation :) Thank you so much for taking time to indulge the silly writer! And thank you, again, for what I'm sure by now is the millionth time I've said it, but thank you for being so great with all this and for sharing your time and your picture with me and my readers! You're welcome anytime :) x
