For Elle Davis, love seems like something that happens to other women. So when her heart flutters upon meeting Trevor Cavanaugh, she is surprised by the momentary glimmer of hope she feels—and appalled moments later by her inexplicably rude response to him.
Before Elle, Trevor has never had trouble with women. But she is a mystery, and now he can’t stop thinking about her. He’s mostly convinced himself it’s just because he needs her expertise to find out who’s sabotaging his business, but there’s more to it than that…
Does love really conquer all in the end?
Elle blushed and said, “Oh, I’m sorry I wasn’t paying attention. Are you okay?”
Trevor looked down at her and said, “It’s okay and I’m fine. Are you okay?”
“I’m fine.” She looked at her arm and noticed his hand there keeping her upright. He noticed at the same moment.
He removed his hand from her arm and stuck it out and said, “I’m Trevor Cavanaugh by the way.”
“I’m Elle Davis, nice to meet you.” Elle said as she shook hands with him.
“Nice to meet you too.” He paused for a second as if he was thinking, “Do I know you from somewhere? You look familiar,” Trevor said looking like he was trying to remember how he knew her.
“I don’t think we’ve met before but you do look familiar to me too.” Elle said, racking her brain to figure out how she knew him, but knowing there was no way to forget
a man like Trevor Cavanaugh.
“What are you doing?” Trevor asked dumbfounded as he stared at a half-naked Elle standing before him.
“Surprising you, I thought you could use a break from all your hard work.”
Trevor closed the thick wooden slated blinds and rounded his desk. When he met Elle he wrapped his arms around her waist to pull her in close. He slammed his mouth down on hers; in a mating of desire and need. He wanted to do this slowly but Elle was leading the
kiss and taking it to the level of fast and furious. He loved this woman; she knew how to pull one hell of a surprise!
Elle pulled back from the kiss with heavy eyes and dilated pupils, “I think you’re wearing too many clothes.”
She unwrapped herself from his arms and went over to his desk and sat on the edge.
