Blog Tour - Bound in Blue by Jessica Ingro Day #1

Synopsis
Strong ties aren't easily broken...

First loves have the ability to fill us with hope and then shatter us when they end. Some people can pick up the pieces and move on. Others simply learn how to exist as a fragment of the person that they used to be.

Shane “Mack” MacAllister is one of the ones simply existing. His wife Ella died at a young age, leaving him alone and broken. Shane knew he’d never be able to give himself to another, believing there was nothing left to give. That is until a young, feisty doctor blazed into his life and made him rethink letting someone into what’s left of his tattered heart.

Dr. Megan Huntley has devoted her life to taking care of others, ever since her twin sister was brutally murdered. She might not have been able to save her sister, but she has made it her mission to help other victims. Long hours in the Emergency Room and volunteer work at the Rape Crisis Center leave little time for relationships. When Megan meets the rugged and handsome Shane MacAllister, she decides to throw caution to the wind and take the police detective for a ride. Too bad she can’t get him out of her head… or her life.

Will Shane and Megan be bound together by true love? Or will past loves and tragedy tear them apart?

REVIEW

4 Stars

Shane MacAllister is a ride hard and put 'em away dirty kind of guy. Mack, as he's known, is looking for a good time and a good time only. His past is still present and there is only room for one. Enter Megan. If there was ever a female to match Mack's sexual appetite and need for space, Megan is it. Just looking for a good time, Megan makes sure Mack knows he was a once-in-the-supply-closet fling. When Fate mingles their futures professionally, can either remain hands off? Or will the walls they've each built start to crumble? Can either survive when the truth comes out?

I must hand the award to 'jaw dropping first sentences' to Jessica! Heck by sentence two she had made a fan for life :) Enough said about that, just pick this exquisite little book up and you will know! It was so hard for me to give four stars to this book and only one reason convinced me... No man. Ever. Ever. Could say/do those things that Mack did to ANYONE that I know and have that female falling over themselves in just a short while... without groveling or better explanation. I needed more relationship in the end and although I love Megan, I didn't feel I was given the information to understand her choices. Regardless of this, I loved this dang book! I even read a few pages out loud to the hubby just because they were so HOOOOTTTT! Thanks for the great read.

I will be looking forward to ALL YOUR FUTURE WORKS!!!!!

Using the pearls, I pulled her over to the dining room table. My hands on her waist helped her up on the table where I positioned her on her knees with her back facing me. The only thing she wore besides the choker was a sexy pair of heels that I made her put on before we started. The loop of pearls rested in her ass crack and the heels of the shoes pressed into the curves of her ass. She was quite simply perfection. I could have stared at her posed like this for hours.

Pulling on the pearls her head came back, giving me perfect access to her neck. I ran my tongue along her skin, feeling goose bumps form on the flesh.

“Do you like being at my mercy?” My voice was low and full of lust. I loved that she had this effect on me.

“Yes,” she whispered.

“Touch yourself, Megan. Rub that clit for me.”

She immediately obeyed. Her breath hitched when I pinched her nipples hard at the same time I bit down on the section of skin where her neck and shoulder met.

“Are you wet?” I continued to roll her nipples between my thumb and forefinger.

“Yes,” she answered after several long seconds.

“Show me how wet. Dip your finger inside and then bring it to my lips.”

She dutifully obeyed, rubbing her slick digit across my bottom lip before I sucked it into my mouth. Releasing her finger, I instructed her to go back to touching herself. Grabbing a bottle of lube from my jacket pocket, I poured it down her ass crack. Her body trembled as my finger teased her puckered hole before slipping past the ring of muscles. I moved it in and out at a slow pace.

“You’re beautiful. Do you know that?”

Her only answer was for her head to fall forward and a ragged breath to leave her lungs.

“One day I’m going to fuck you here. You like that idea. I can tell.”

She nodded, so I picked up the pace and continued talking low to her. “Tell me how bad you want my cock right now. How bad you want me to fuck you. Make me crazy, buttercup. Make me want to tear you in two.”

Standing at the bar, I flagged down the bartender and ordered two beers. Waiting for my change, I jumped when warm breath danced against the skin of my neck. “Tell your friend you’re leaving. I want you naked and lying on your bed in exactly thirty minutes.” The word friend was said like it tasted bad.

“And if I say no?” The words came out breathlessly as my body tingled with anticipation.

“Punishment.” A full body shiver worked through me. One word, highly effective.

“I can’t waste my beer,” I argued.

Mack positioned his hands on either side of my body and leaned into my back, getting as close as he could to me. My belly pressed into the bar, and I thought he might kiss me, but after several seconds he plucked a bottle from in front of me. “Now you have no excuse.” I jumped when he landed a smack on my butt, and then I was watching his back saunter away with my beer.

Still reeling from what just happened, I shook my head and followed him to the backroom. The whole way I argued with myself over whether or not I was going to do as he said. On the one hand, I really wanted my fix of him. It was one of the reasons I had come out tonight. Okay, it was actually the reason. On the other hand, I hadn’t seen John in a really long time, and I didn’t like the idea of Mack making me leave when he wanted me to. And the threat of punishment wasn’t so much of a deterrent, but rather compelled me to want to disobey him.

Mack was lowering himself in a seat next to Kara when I hit the room. My heart skipped a beat at how good he looked. His tight white t-shirt stretched across his chest, and his long legs were clad with worn blue jeans. He leaned back in the chair and stretched his leg out in front of him, crossing them at the ankle. He looked casual and laidback, but his eyes were avidly watching me with an attentiveness that until that point I’d only seen him use in the bedroom. It was enough to convince me to leave.

“Didn’t you get yourself one?” John asked when I handed him his beer.

“Nah. Got called into work. I’m off on Sunday if you want to come over for dinner. I’ll make sauce.”

His grin was infectious and I found myself smiling even though my insides were knotted after my conversation with Mack. “I could never pass up your sauce. I’ll bring a bottle of wine.” John leaned in and kissed my cheek. “I’m glad I ran into you. I was afraid after all this time away you just didn’t want to see me anymore.” Even though his tone was joking, I knew he meant the words. After our history, I couldn’t blame him for being concerned.

“Never,” I said with conviction. “I really have to go. I’ll see you Sunday.”

“Sunday.”

I turned on my heel and pushed through the crowd towards the exit. Looking over my shoulder, my eyes met Mack’s and I swear I felt his gaze straight down to my toes.

Vision of Destiny
(Infinity #2)

We were left hanging with a “WTF” cliff hanger at the end of Vision of Love – book one… and I couldn’t wait for it all to be explained, and oh boy, was it ever a messy situation to explain!
I loved Nicholas and Karly’s story in book one, they have an amazing love that just warms my heart.  But VOD, wow! It was an emotional train wreck from the beginning (in a good way). When Jamie (the ex and Emma’s mother) comes back into the picture, she takes us all for a crazy ride. Nicholas makes a promise to Jamie and chooses to be with her over Karly, and poor Karly loses her shit, she is completely broken. She thought she had it all, a family of her own, just to have it all ripped away.
I was so confused at what Jamie had over Nicholas; because that is the only reason he would be “choosing” her, right? We do find out what is going on with Jamie and it makes me feel a little better about why Nicholas did what he did, but I was also pissed still. I was just sitting there thinking… Tell Karly and save her some of this heartache! Ughh, but he doesn’t… so Karly does with any normal person would do when their boyfriend gets back with his ex, she tries to move on too. Enter Jensen ~ I was happy she met Jensen when she did and I was kind of pulling for him because I was sick of Nicholas and the lies. But, then it felt like maybe there was something there that he wasn’t sharing with Karly too. It was a complete rollercoaster ride from chapter one! The twists and turns in this book kept me guessing the whole way through! I was surprised by a lot that was reveled in this book and there were definite plot twists that I did not see coming.
The emotion you feel in this book is incredible. I wanted to curl up in a ball and cry along with Karly, slap Nicholas, push Jamie down the stairs, and hug Jensen…. Whew….  S. Moose makes you feel the heartbreak, love, anger, relief, and forgiveness. I recommend this series; it is a great read that you will fall in love with! Can’t wait for the next book by S. Moose!

Do you know that feeling when a knife is in your heart, twisting and turning? Do you know what it’s like to have a car run you over a million times? That’s how I’m feeling. Rage builds in me and, instead of screaming and yelling, I sit in front of Larry, numb and frozen.

“I can’t do this, Larry. I’m fucking human, you know? I have feelings!”
He brings me into his arms and tries to calm me down. “I know and that’s what I told him.”
I can’t give Nicholas what he needs, even though it’s what I truly want. I refuse to break up his marriage and be the one that he uses to escape from Jamie. If something is up and he’s doing this because she’s manipulating him, then that’s a different story and I’ll beg him to leave her. I don’t know the whole story and I’m not sure if I even will get the story. A little voice in my head keeps screaming at me to fight for the man I love. But I don’t know if that’s the right answer.

“I’m gonna go lie down. Thanks for the coffee,” I mutter.

Back in my room, in my safety area, I place the steaming cup of coffee on my nightstand and lie down, facing the balcony.

Tearing away from the sun rising, I force my mind back to sleep. It’s been the longest few nights without Nicholas. I don’t know where to go or what to do. I can’t forget him. Every time I close my eyes, I see his eyes, his smile; I see everything. My chest fills with ache. Sitting here crying over him while everyone else is living kills me. The fight in me is slowly going away. Unable to stand the silence I open my music app on my phone and play a song I haven’t heard in a few weeks - our song. It plays over and over again so I can remember our dance and how I felt when he was holding me. Everything feels heavy and miserable. I scream into my pillow and pray that I can be taken away. I don’t care if we weren't together for a long time. When it comes to love, there’s no measurement in time. It’s how love makes you feel and it made me feel whole. I’d give anything to feel that way again.

Knocking me off balance, Karly pushes me away and stares at me. “I don’t owe you anything. Do you understand me? I’ve cried enough since you left me. I’m done crying. I deserve to be treated with respect and love. Jensen’s someone new, and who knows what’s gonna happen, but you and I are done, Nicholas. I can’t forgive you!”
“You belong to me.” Grabbing her arm so her face is close to mine. She needs to see how serious I am. “Do I make myself clear? I know this is a fucked up situation, but you have to believe me. When the time is right, I’ll explain everything. Don’t leave me. Wait for me.”
“I can’t,” she cries, covering her face. “It hurts, Nicholas. It hurts so bad.”
“And it will for a while. I’m sorry, but I need you to be patient.” Looking inside, I see everyone sitting on the couch, looking in our direction. I pull Karly to the other side of the deck, away from their eyes. “Have you fucked him?”
“W-what? Are you serious? Nicholas, we’re just dating! What right do you have to ask me that? It’s none of your business. My life is MY life. Not yours.”
“That’s where you’re wrong, baby.” Wrapping my hand around her neck and pushing her against the railing, I have her closed in. She can’t get away. “You’re mine and no one, no one will touch you. Do I make myself clear? I’m the only one.”
I slam my mouth against hers, pressing down and pulling her closer to me. She finally relaxes in my arms and we have this moment.
Together.

Excerpt
My name is Axel Reid and I’m a trained assassin. I know what you’re thinking, I’m a murderer, and I deserve to be put behind bars. The honest truth is that you’re probably right because well, I am a murder, but before you presume to judge me, know the reason I do what I do. I was sixteen when Hendricks found me. I owe this man my life, if it wasn't for him, I would have probably ended up in a foster home. but I didn't. I had a pretty stable teenage life after my family died. Heartbreaking and dark, yes, but stable. I watched my mother and little sister got brutally raped and murdered and my father was beaten to death. I watched as they cut my little sisters eyes out.  I watched as they cut off parts of  my father's body off, laughing while doing it. Its burned into me, a memory I'll never forget To  this day, I can’t remember how I escaped or even how I’m still alive, but since that day, I vowed to get justice for those who were wronged in the worst way. I take out the murderers, the rapist, the child molesters, the abusers; I do the job no one else can. I will never spill a drop of innocent blood, now yes, I’m a murderer, but I get the justice the police can’t. I might be a horrible excuse of a man, but at least I was made to be this way. What’s everyone’s else’s excuse to being what they are?
