“Take a walk with me,” Shooter said guiding her away from the noisy clusters of people nearby and out onto the trail. With the rich green of the forest broken up by wildflowers it had the potential for romance, if only the air between them wasn’t strained by stress so thick it rivaled taffy. “We choose to live this way and expect to be able to do so freely. That’s what Moose meant back there. I know it’s a lot to take in, and I‘d be stupid to not consider that this may not be for you. All I ask is you keep an open mind and keep your judgments to yourself.”
“Who said I was judging?”
“Aren’t you?”
“I’m trying to wrap my head around it everything. It’s like I walked into Oz or something. The people I know don’t live like this.” Confusion shone bright in her eyes.
“You want me to take you home?”
“No, I want you to explain why I’m here in the first place. I’m not your kind of girl.”
“Maybe that’s why? You’re the kind of girl I used to go for once upon a time. I thought I was over with that, but then you come along and fill my mind with what ifs. I’m not a man who believes in regret, so I took a shot and went for it. I’m not going to treat you like one of the biker bunnies, if that’s what you’re worried about. I do know how to treat a woman.”
“I know. That’s the problem.” She huffed. “You’re like two men in one body. The biker whose large, intimidating, and most definitely dangerous, but there’s also the man who holds open my door, puts his hand on the small of my back when we walk and for some God awful reason, makes me feel safe. It’s been a long time since I felt that way with a man.”
“You can have both parts of me, but you can’t have one without the other.”
“I know.” She glanced down. “ But I’m not sure I’m equipped for this lifestyle.”
“That’s for you to decide.” He placed a finger under her chin and forced her to meet his gaze. “I’m not going to be strung along so I suggest you figure it out fast. I’m going to ask you again. Should I take you home?”
Two heart beats passed.
“No, I don’t want you to take me home. I want to stay.”
He grinned. “Then relax, and enjoy yourself. I want to show you what life is like when you’re with me.”
“I get the feeling it’s going to be one hell of a ride with you, biker.” She tilted her head back and flashes an almost shy smile.
“I think you can learn to love the walk on the wild side librarian.” She leaned forward and he bent down capturing her full lips. He thrust his tongue inside her mouth and moaned at the taste of her. She was lightness, sweetness, and sunshine, a ray of purity in his dark world. His soul rejoiced. His jeans grew tight. He deepened the kiss, seeking more of the soul nourishing vibrations she offered freely. He slid his hand down her back and cupped her thick ass. She gasped. He swallowed the sound greedy for more of the woman who made him feel. His soul ignited and he knew in his gut he wouldn’t be able to let her walk away. He wanted to explore the connection that existed between him. The intensity of her lure was so strong he’d broken his rule about getting close and hadn’t’ looked back.
She pressed her hips against his, gripping the edges of his cut. They moved their heads this way and that, exploring. His dick turned to granite. She rocked her hips and he pulled away, sucking in air.

“Unless you want me to lay you down here and now I think we’d better stop.”

Excerpt from Guarding Nadia © Lainey Reese

Two hours later, Nadia was frumped out in baggy sweats and a ratty tee, with fluffy socks on her feet that were- unbelievably- resting in Jonas' lap.  When she'd come down from her bath, the men had the popcorn popped and a selection of candy and drinks spread out that she knew didn't come from her kitchen.  She'd smiled and gratitude filled her when she realized that one of them had made a run to the store.  It was a small thing to most people, but for her the gesture was huge.  They were here to protect her from harm, not to coddle and entertain her.  She knew that this was a rare occurrence on their part, and she was touched deeply by it and them.  The contract that she'd signed in their office two days ago had outlined in minute detail what services they provided, gummy bears and foot rubs had not been on that list.
"I still can't believe you picked Die Hard to watch,"
Jonas commented as he dug his thumbs into the arches of her feet with deliriously wonderful results.  She moaned and replied; "Hey.  Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I have to watch chick flicks.  I love action movies.  Die Hard is a classic and Bruce Willis is a freaking stud."
"I agree with the classic part."  Caleb said.  "No comment on the stud part.  He's not my type."  Nadia chuckled and cranked her head to look up at him.
When she first sat down tonight, she'd been seated between them like a proper lady, with both feet on the floor and her back resting against the cushions behind her.  Before the first preview had even finished, Caleb and Jonas pounced.  Jonas had grabbed her feet and tugged them into his lap, while Caleb took her by the shoulders and adjusted her until she was reclining against him with her head comfortably nestled on his chest.  His elbow was on the couch back, and his fingers had been playing in her curls nonstop.
There was something in his expression as she gazed up at him that was different.  If she didn't know any better, she would call that look he was giving her 'intent'.  Part of her said she was being fanciful, and it was just the wishful thinking of her long neglected hormones running away with her.  The other part of her said she was right on track.
They had her spread out between them, and had been touching her nonstop since she'd sat down. Yes, they were here on a job.  However, the familiarity of their touch had left the realm of professionalism the moment she'd clung to Caleb and cried earlier.  She'd made the first move.  Breached the lines and took things beyond professional.  Could they be acting on that, and letting her know in a not so subtle way that they were open to being more than just her bodyguards?
Considering who she was and what she did for a living, the erotic images that immediately sprang to life in her brain had her muscles loosening and her pulse rabbiting.  Then reality smacked her in the head.  Stuff like that only happened in books.  No way could this be anything more than what it was.  She was deluding herself if she thought that anything even remotely close to what she was fantasizing about would happen.  Threesomes were things that only reckless and drunk college students did.  People in the real world, with careers and families didn't have wild sexcapades on the job.  Or off for that matter.  This was just stress and loneliness making more out of their kindness than what was there, and she needed to get a hold of herself before she ended up looking like an idiot.
Caleb touched his finger between her brows.  "What's caused this?"
"What do you mean?" She asked him.
"You were smiling a minute ago and now there's a frown here.  What thought caused that?"  His finger was still on her brows, gently tracing them and it was doing amazing things to her insides, even as his question caused her to flush uncomfortably.  She ducked her chin and broke eye contact as she tried to think of something to say.
"Hey."  Jonas squeezed at the foot he was rubbing and she looked at him.  "Honest answers only between us.  No half truths or dodging either."  His expression grew intense.  "On any subject.  No matter what it is."
Nadia felt as if she were in an alternate universe.  Everything felt unreal, as though she were in one of her books after all.  Could it be that these two unbelievably sexy and intense men were thinking the same thoughts that she was?  Did she dare tell them the truth that they demanded?  What if she did and then she had to suffer through the humiliating let down speech?
What if she did and they took her up on it?
All Nadia's life she'd lived as a responsible, sensible young lady.  She never smoked or partied as a teen.  Never snuck out of the house at night to meet up with friends or a boy.  She didn't have her first drink until her twenty-first birthday.  On top of that, despite what she wrote, sex for her had always been one on one.  In the dark.  Boring.  No fuss, no frills, no kink...no fun.
Nadia had always believed that was the reason she wrote what she did.  There was so much pent up inside of her that it had to have an outlet somewhere or she'd combust.
As she tore her gaze from Jonas and looked back up at Caleb, she thought to herself that they might say no,  but, they might just say yes. God help her but she didn't want to miss out on what would happen if they wanted her, and if there was even a small chance that they did, it was worth the risk.
"I was thinking that this was very intimate and sexy at first.  Like something out of one of my books right before things get wild and kinky.  Then I told myself to snap out of it.  This wasn't a book, and that wild and kinky didn't happen in the real world."  She swallowed before adding; "At least not to me."
"Bruce."  Caleb said.
"What?"  She was confused.  His look was back to being intense, and she would swear he was about to kiss her, so she had no clue why he would say something like that.
"Bruce." He repeated.  "That's your safe word.  Say, yes sir, if you understand and agree.  If not say, Bruce and we stop here and now."
"Holy shit."  Nadia was dumbstruck.

"That wasn't one of your options, sweetheart."  Jonas' chuckle was as seductive as a caress.

Excerpt from Interference © Dakota Madison

When I finally hit the last room in a long row of rooms I see a guy sitting there looking bored and staring at two fast food containers in front of him on the table.
He glances up at me when I enter. The first thing I notice is his piercing green eyes. I don’t think I’ve ever seen eyes that green on a human being that weren’t Photoshopped
The second thing I notice is his messy, light brown hair. It doesn’t look like it’s been combed it in a week. It makes me wonder if it’s some new hair trend or if he just doesn’t bother to style it. Not that I have too much room to talk when it comes to hair. My curly red mop has been the bane of my existence since I was a kid. About the only thing I can ever do with it is pull it back into a pony tail.
“Sedona?”
I nod.
“Have a seat.” He points to the chair right next to him.
I remember Lewis’s warning and take a seat across the table instead. I want to be as close to the door as possible. The guy is big and muscular and much more intimidating than I imagined he’d be.
My heart is thumping in my chest because his size and rough demeanor are making me nervous.
When he pushes one of the fast food containers in my direction I cringe. I rarely eat fast food and when I do it’s from Just Veggies, an organic vegetarian place near campus.
He doesn’t hesitate to open his container and take a bite of the messy burger that’s dripping some kind of white sauce all over his pile of fries.
My stomach turns in response.
“I bought you a burger.” He points to the second container he’s pushed in my direction. “Ambrose scheduled our sessions during lunch.”
I make a point of pushing the container back over to him. “No thank you.”
He frowns. “It’s from Frankie’s. Everybody loves Frankie’s burgers.”
“Clearly not everyone.”
His brows knit like he can’t believe I refused the food he bought.
“You don’t want it?” He actually sounds hurt.
“No, I don’t.”
“Why?”
I lift my book bag from the ground and point to one of the many political cause buttons I have covering the knitted tote my mom made for me.
He barely acknowledges it. “What is that supposed to mean?”
Now I’m the one who’s frowning. “Meat is murder. It’s a slogan. It means that I don’t eat animal flesh.”
“You’re one of those vegans?” He doesn’t bother hiding the condescension in his voice.
“Technically I’m a vegetarian. I eat free range, organic dairy products.”
“Fine. I’ll eat the burger.” He glares at me as he opens the second container and takes a huge bite of the burger.
I’m appalled until I notice that he slyly pushes both containers away and doesn’t take another bite of either burger.
“I guess I should have brought an apple for the teacher.”
“Only if it’s organic. And I’m not actually a teacher. I’m a tutor.”
We both stare at each other for a long moment. Awkward does not even begin to describe our pairing. We’re like two people from different planets trying to communicate when we don’t speak each other’s languages.
I remove a slip of paper from my bag. “Mr. Ambrose gave me your schedule of classes for the semester. You’re taking Film Appreciation, The History of Jazz, Advanced Yoga and Stress Management. What’s your major?”
He shrugs. “Undeclared right now. But I’ll probably go with Sports Management.”
“So these are Gen Ed classes?”
He cocks his head and looks confused.
“General Education classes,” I clarify. “Elective classes you need to take to fulfill requirements that aren’t directly related to your major.”
“I guess so.”
I’m a little disturbed by his lackadaisical attitude, but I let it go for the moment. We’re clearly not going to be able to develop much of a rapport so maybe it’s best just to get down to business.
“We’re just handed a class schedule,” he clarifies. “Assigned classes. We don’t pick them ourselves.”
“And they assigned you the History of Jazz? That’s the class that you’re having trouble with?”
“The dude who was supposed to teach the class croaked and they got this new chick who apparently doesn’t like basketball.”
There is so much wrong with his statement I don’t even know where to begin. “Might I suggest that you call your professors either professor or doctor and not chick.”
I bristle at my own use of the derogatory word, but I continue, “And what does her not liking basketball have to do with your performance in the class.”
At this he gives me a sly smile. “Let’s just say she’s not willing to play ball the way the other professors are.”
I’m not sure exactly what he means by that, but there seems to be some kind of sports reference that is lost on me.
“So you’re saying your other classes are going well and you’re just having trouble with the one class, History of Jazz?”
He leans back in his chair and eyes me for a few seconds before he nods. I don’t like when he looks at me like that. It’s like he’s examining some weird, new specimen and trying to make sense of it.
“All of my other teachers are huge basketball fans and they know I’m the in the starting lineup. I’m not sure what the jazz goddess’s problem is.”
I take in a deep breath before I say something that’s sure to get me fired. “Why don’t we start by calling her Dr. Fisher? I think that might help. And why do you think she has a problem?”
“She doesn’t like basketball. That’s not normal. Everybody loves basketball. This entire campus lives and breathes the sport.”
“I don’t love basketball. I don’t even like it. Not even a little bit.”
He actually looks stunned for a moment. Like I slapped him. Then he regains his cocky composure.
“You’re one weird chick,” he mutters almost to himself, but still loud enough that I can hear him.
“Excuse me?” I say even though I heard him. I just didn’t like having an insult hurled at me by someone I don’t even know.
“You. Are. One. Weird. Chick.” His words are slower and louder as if I didn’t hear him the first time.
“I actually heard what you said. I just didn’t like it.”
A smug smirk appears on his face that I would love to slap right off if I could.
I continue. “In case you haven’t noticed I’m not a bird I’m a human being. I’d appreciate it if you didn’t refer to me as a chick.”
He bites his bottom lip as if he’s actually giving it some thought. Then he says, “You’re one weird woman. Is that better?”
“I’m not sure why you have to bring gender into the equation at all. Why not just call me a weird person?”
That makes him laugh. “You don’t care that I think you’re weird. You just don’t want me to call you a chick?”
“I’ve been weird my whole life. I’m used to it.”
“At least you’re willing to own it.”
“So did you bring your textbook with you or are you just going to spend the next ninety minutes taunting me?”

“I kind of like taunting you.”

tag17Tempting, inked and highly addictive. Alex is all that and more… I’ve made a lot of mistakes – ones I’m not proud of, and definitely ones that have left their marks both mentally and physically. Things got lonely; I got lost in my own fucked up mind and in the end it left me fucked out of my mind and unable to fight – or at least win. That life’s over for me and I’ve moved on. Six months into tattooing at Blue’s and already I’m the most wanted and sought out tattooist. My biggest clientele consists of women. They come into the shop, end up in my bed and we both come out happy. It’s been my release since I’ve stopped fighting. It’s become part of the “new” me. But when Tripp reappears in my life, I can’t deny the fact that I would do anything for that girl. So when she asks me to move in with her and her ‘boyfriend’ – our other childhood friend – I never expected for things to get so fucked up and twisted that I would find myself only more attracted to her by each passing second or wanting to protect her from everything that isn’t me. I have worked so hard over the years to suppress my feelings for her but when I find out that her and Lucas have been having an open relationship, I have the strong urge to rip his heart straight from his chest – to destroy the very thing that keeps him breathing. What I didn’t expect was for Lucas to ask what he did. For him to ask me to do the one thing I have secretly longed for since I was old enough to know what the need was. The second thing I never expected was the look of need that I saw in Tripp’s eyes when he asked. One night of free passion could change our lives forever. I never said that was a good thing either…
GR 3tag19He looks at me, smiles and then walks past me and into the room. “Hell yes,” he groans. “It’s fucking hard now, Tripp.” I feel my stomach flutter and my heart rate pick up from his choice of words. I can’t tell if it’s because I am happy that he’s going to agree on moving in or because the thought of him hard makes me want to jump on him and take him for a ride. He’s my best friend. I shouldn’t even be questioning myself but I can’t help it. “Umm . . . good, I guess,” I say in response as I step up beside him in front of the water. When I look down at his hand, I notice him adjusting the crotch of his jeans. I give him a shove and he looks over at me with a grin. “Damn, Tripp. Are you trying to make me wrestle you? You know it’s been a while but you’ve been pretty damn pushy today. I still have the skills to take you down.” I can’t help but to laugh. “I pushed you because you were playing with your dick. Are you seriously hard right now?” He pulls his hand away from his jeans and sure enough I see a huge bulge. I can tell it’s not fully hard, but damn! “Well what the hell do you expect when you call this the sex pool? Am I not supposed to get aroused at the thought of fucking someone in here?” I pull my eyes away from his crotch and punch his arm. “Oh come on, Tripp. Don’t be ashamed to look. We’ve known each other our whole lives. You don’t think I have sneaked peeks at your body from time to time. You know you’ve imagined how big it is before. I’ll let you have a peek if want. What’s mine is yours,” he says huskily. He bites his bottom lip and reaches for his belt as he steps closer to me in a teasing way. The thought of his erection being so close to me gets me so nervous that I reach out with both hands and push him into the pool. My hands instantly go up to cover my mouth as he falls in with a huge splash. I burst out in laughter as he quickly resurfaces the water and jumps out of the pool while wiping his face off. His shirt is clinging to his muscular body and water is dripping down his face and lips. It’s the most glorious site I have ever seen. Just when I think he’s about to yell at me, he yanks his shirt over his head and reaches into his pocket to toss his phone aside. He grins and closes the distance between. “You’re getting it now.” I take in a deep breath as his, cold firm chest presses against my breasts. “You ready for me to get you wet, Tripp? I’ve been waiting for this for a long, long time.” He’s too quick for me to even attempt to make an escape. He picks me up, wraps my legs around his waist and walks over the edge of the pool. I instantly take notice of his partial boner pressing firmly against my clit which only makes me wish we were naked. We sink to the bottom with his hands gripping into my bare thighs while he holds me close. As soon as his feet hit the ground, he pushes up with his muscular legs and we both swim back up to the top. I fight to catch my breath while pushing water from out of my face. “Dammit, Alex!” I hear him laughing behind me so I turn around to yell at him, but he’s too quick and is already back behind me again. “What’s the matter? You didn’t expect me to get you so wet?” I lean my head back and bite my lip in frustration. Him and this damn teasing. He’s really getting a kick out of this. “You’re lucky I love you so much,” I bite out. I feel his body press up behind me before he wraps his arm around me and starts pulling me back to the edge of the pool. Once there, he picks me up and gives my ass a boost until I am on my knees, catching my breath on the smooth, wet ground. My body gets heated from the skin to skin contact and feeling his finger so close to being able to slip inside me. It’s the closest it’s been before and it steals my breath away. I chose to wear a thong today so not only did my dress ride up, but I’m sure he just got a full on view of my ass in his face. I quickly get back to my feet and turn around to face him, now embarrassed. He’s just standing there staring up at me, his eyes unreadable. “Aren’t you getting out?” His eyes quickly scan over my breasts before moving down to my exposed thighs and staying there. “Yeah. I’m coming.” He smiles and I give him the middle finger. “No, I didn’t mean it like that.” He laughs while pulling himself halfway out of the pool. “You have such a dirty mind,” he says in a serious tone. “I’m not sure I can handle living with someone with such filthy thoughts. You just might corrupt me.”
