Release Blitz: Bang Switch (Code 11 KPD SWAT #3) by Lani Lynn Vale

Title: Bang Switch
Series: Code-11 KPD SWAT #3
Author: Lani Lynn Vale
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: July 2, 2015

Lachlan Downy was a lover, not a fighter.

Okay, he wouldn't lie, he was a fighter, too. But nobody had to know that. Especially not Memphis Tennessee Conner and her stuffy attitude when it came to cops and ‘men like him.’

Memphis knew cops. Her daddy was a cop. He was also the president of a motorcycle club. Needless to say, he’s about as alpha as they come, and she’s tired of overbearing men who think they know how to run her life better than she does.

So when Downy comes into her life running his smooth talking mouth, she realizes that she’ll have to stand strong against his pretty words and promises to give her what she needs.

Downy is determined, though.

He’s the hostage negotiator for KPD SWAT, and he’s never met a person, man or woman, he couldn't talk around into his way of thinking.

Although, Memphis is about to show him just how much he miscalculated.

Seems Downy may not be as smooth as he thought, and Memphis is just the girl to show him the error of his ways.

Just thinking about today and how I’d had to reschedule with the contractor was only one such instance when having predictable hours would’ve been more convenient.

Our shoulders bumped as we both stepped over a crack in the uneven walkway, causing her to look at me, and me to look at her.

“Sorry,” I muttered, trying as inconspicuously as I could to move my dick into a better position.

It was getting hard to walk with a semi-stiffy. Especially since I’d been fighting a losing battle with it all day long. I needed a good lay, and by the vibes pouring off of Memphis, I wouldn’t be getting it from her.

Not yet, anyway.

“Shouldn’t your dog be on a leash or something?” She asked suddenly.

I turned around to look for Mocha and laughed when she was nearly fifty yards back from where we were.

“Yes, probably. But she doesn’t like leashes,” I explained.

I could tell she rolled her eyes even though I couldn’t see her face.

“And your dog gets what she wants?” Memphis asked in surprise.

I nodded. “What my girl wants, my girl gets.”

I could practically see her mind whirling as something sat at the tip of her tongue, only waiting to be released.

She wanted to say something, but I could tell she didn’t want to say it. She lost the battle, though. Curiosity winning out over propriety.

“So what about your woman…does she gets what she wants?” Memphis asked suddenly.

I turned to look down at her, studying her facial features before saying, “My woman would get what she needs.”

She looked horrified, and I had to physically stop myself from smiling. She probably wouldn’t find her discomfort as funny as I did.

She looked discombobulated as she said, “I cannot believe you just said that!”

I snorted. “Why is that so hard to believe?”

“What about what she wants?” Memphis exclaimed.

I did lose my battle with laughter at her offended tone.

She crossed her arms, refusing to say anything more.

We turned around and walked the half-mile back to the apartment complex in silence. I could practically feel her anger simmering

Peter was now walking between us, I’m sure put there by an angered Memphis.

Mocha was now in front of us, her eyes scanning our surroundings as she moved.

I held the door open to the apartment complex once we arrived, and she walked inside, not offering me a thank you.

I smiled as she disappeared up the barely lit stairs. I followed closely behind her, making sure she felt me at her back, causing her to move all the faster.

When she came to a stop in the hallway, I reached into my pocket and withdrew the money from earlier.

Leaning in close, I slid my hand around her hip, moving it until my fingers were at the top of her ass so I could put the tip into her back pocket.

Making sure she felt the movement, I pressed my hard body into hers, pressing her against the wall beside her door.

“Here’s your tip,” I said, wiggling the money in her jeans before taking a step away from her.

It was hard. Both the actual act of moving and the state of my dick.

Her eyes were hooded, and I knew I had her. Not all the way…not yet. But I would. Soon.

“Goodnight, Memphis,” I said against the side of her head. My breath rustling her hair.

Then, turning my back to her, I walked slowly away.

When I had the door unlocked once again, I turned back to see her walking woodenly into her apartment.

Right when she got to where she was closing the door, I called her name, “Memphis!”

She stopped and opened the door slightly, poking her head out of the opening to look at me.

“When you’re ready to get what you need, and not what you think you want, come see me,” I said before closing the door to my own apartment.

“Wow, that was deep,” Miller said from the couch.

I flipped him off and walked away, not bothering to conceal the steep rod tenting up the front of my tactical pants.

Apparently, they needed to make a new weapon holder to keep my dick in check.

I had a feeling I’d be needing it for the next couple of weeks before I could convince her to give me a try.

Excerpt:
Rylee bounces out the door and bounds down the stairs before our feet even hit the first step. I’m sure she’s trying to sneak in a kiss before we get there. “She was talking about what I think she was right?” “What sex?” I answer teasing him He shudders with just the thought “Yeah” “Of course she was” I answer with a laugh “So sick, I figured as much” he mutters “Don’t worry Zack, I’ll never tell your sister how well you wield your mighty sword.” He stops in his tracks halfway down the stairs cracking up. “Oh my God Cassidy that’s fucking classic! I almost wish you could, just so I could see her expression.” Then he whispers seductively in my ear “But if that’s how you’re going to describe my fucking magnificent cock, I really hope it’s in jest.” He nips the tip of my earlobe and sucks on my neck pulling me closer to him. His magnificent cock is pushing against my hip making sure I’m aware his description is indeed accurate. “Yes it’s just a joke. But you’d understand why if you could have heard her description of…” “Lalalalala” he cuts me off with his fingers in his ears and bounds down the stairs. “Oh gross! Seriously? Come on! Pete we’re about to eat. Damn Ry, you’re making me lose my appetite.” Oops guess he walked in on them anyway. “Paybacks a bitch big brother get used to it.” Rylee tosses back at him as I walk right past the kitchen and out to the patio. I’m starving and this will either end quickly or go on all night. Pete exits the house right behind me and takes a seat, followed by Ry and Zack. “There’s not enough bleach in the world for my eyes after that.” Zack complains as I begin dishing out food. “Stop whining Zack it was just tongue I’ve seen you with your ass in the air mid thrust so don’t talk to me about bleach.” Rylee pretends to stick her finger down her throat and gag. Zack does have the decency to look embarrassed, but it only lasts a second. “If you would have knocked first that wouldn’t have happened.” He taunts and she rolls her eyes at him. I love how Pete just stays quiet and sips on his beer. “New house rules starting now, no one gets to fuck in our house but us.” “Seriously Zack? We weren’t fucking, not even close to it.” Ry snaps back at him “I know” he says with a smile “I’m just making a pre-emptive strike in case you get too drunk to drive tonight.” “If I get too drunk to drive tonight I’ll call a cab because I’m definitely getting fucked.” Both Pete and I respectively choke, him on his beer and me on my salad. Zack gives Pete a long glare and Pete just shrugs. Damn I think I love him already. “You just said I couldn’t break her heart you didn’t say I couldn’t make her scream.” Pete points out hysterically. Hell, I’m laughing so hard I’m crying at this point.

I’ve never been one to follow the rules…or the law, for that matter. But when you find yourself behind bars and being offered the opportunity of a lifetime, you take it. I agreed to race motorcycles for Johnny Knight. A very powerful man who wanted me on his team, even knowing I was a liability. But will he still feel that way once he finds out that I had a one-night stand with his daughter? I didn’t mean for it to happen. I didn’t even know who she was until she walked into his office wearing my shirt from the night before. Too bad that was all she wanted—one night. It didn’t really matter who she was, I wanted more. So when she ran, I followed. I should have let her go. That would have been best for both of us. But I have never done what was right, so why start now? I’ve always been willing to take a risk, no matter what it would cost me. And I knew she was worth it all.

I’m Erik Dashling; you can call me Dash. This is my story of how I willingly risked one dream for another. But everyone knows that not all dreams come true.

"There are some particularly difficult scenes in this book, all I can say is that they were superbly written, poetic even, Shantel outdone herself in the delivery of the climax to the story, shell shocked would be how I felt..." ~ Book Hooked Brit
“Be prepared to fall in love with Dash, to melt when he brings out his cocky smirks and his sexy promises.” ~ Rosarita Reader (iScream Books)
"Such an emotionally heart stopping book. Loved it!" ~ The Smutbrarians

His face starts to harden, and his gray eyes narrow as they search my face. He looks at me as if he just realizes what my night has consisted of. A physical fight with Rodger. Whereas, I’m sure he got drunk and laid.
I actually throw my head back and laugh out loud. I laugh so hard my body shakes, and it feels good. I lift my head and look up at him as he stares at me with those beautiful gray eyes. They look hard as I watch his eyes follow the line of the stitches that are on my face once again.
I throw my hand up as I continue to laugh. He frowns when I snort, and it makes me laugh even harder. “Sorry…” I try to calm my laughter; it makes my aching body hurt, but it feels so good to laugh. “But this is just too funny.”
“Your ex-boyfriend beating the shit out of you is funny?” he questions. “I don’t see how that can be funny.”
My laughter dies immediately. Instead of standing, I lean back against the bench and cross one leg over the other. His eyes quickly scan my bare legs, and I feel my body heat start to rise. No! Don’t go there, Tabatha. You regret ever sleeping with him, remember? “No, the fact that you keep showing up is what I think is funny. The fact that you think I wanna talk to you is funny.” Oh, good one. Make him buy it.
“You wanna talk about funny?” he asks raising his voice. “I have woken up to you running away. Not only once, but twice. What the hell is your problem?” I take a deep breath that makes my chest rise. Is he really gonna do this? “And why was Rodger there after I happen to leave?” Oh, he’s going all the way. “Huh? Did you call him to tell him how bad I hurt you?” My mouth drops open. “Did you ask him to come over and kiss your wounds?” he shouts.
I stand and shove my hands into his chest pushing him backward. “Don’t you dare accuse me of something you know nothing about,” I shout back. “You were the one who had just been drunk and with your ex moments before. And you kissed her.” I do air quotes around kissed. “Who knows what else you did with her.”
“I was just doing what your father told me to do. Get information,” he says matter-of-fact with a wave of his hand.
“Oh? And he told you to stick your tongue down her throat?” I demand.
“No. His exact words were to do whatever I had to do in order to get the information that we needed.”
“Lies.” I spin around giving him back for a second before I turn back to face him with my hands clenched down at my sides. “All you do is lie,” I yell.
“And all you do is run away,” he sneers in my face. “Not all of us are as heartless as you and can just turn our backs on others at any given moment.”
I feel the tears start to sting my eyes, and I blink them away. He truly hates me now, but this is not the time to fall apart. After everything I’ve been through tonight, I can keep it together for just a little longer. I swallow the knot in my throat and lick my dry lips. “Well, you made it pretty damn easy,” I lie. He hasn’t made anything about us easy. It’s so damn hard to stand here and be a bitch to him. My legs are tired, and I would give anything for him to pick me up and hold me in his arms. But that ship has sailed. “But I sure as hell can’t stand the fact that you keep coming around.” Stay strong, Tabatha. Don’t apologize; you can’t take those words back now no matter how big of a lie it was.
I expect him to yell in my face for what I said. For him to shoot the hurtful words right back. But instead, his hard eyes look me up and down, and he snorts as he shakes his head. That hurts worse than any words could. He looked at me as if I was nothing.
He runs his hand through his shaggy brown hair and speaks. “Well, I’ll make something else easier for you. I quit.”
