Fraternizing by C.C. Brown

Fraternizing by CC Brown

This was a whirlwind romance if I ever saw one between Pfc Cassie Bennett and Sgt. Alex Cruz. Hot sex, crazy exes, haunting pasts....it's all in here. In the span of just six weeks these two people who met by chance in a bar one night, become all the other needs to breathe. It is a quick, very intensely passionate read and although I did not find myself giving it five stars, it was mild stuff, like some parts of the snubbing of military life and rules and some of Cruz's unprofessional behavior kind of bothered me when he was SO adamant that the Marine Corps was his whle life and meant everything to him and because it ended with no resolution, and that I am kind of over, as it seems everyone's books now are a series with cliffhangers. Lol! That being said, I have to know how this story ends, as you canNOT help but fall in love and want to fight for this couple to make it, against all of the odds stacked against them. Well done CC- I gave you four stars babe. Looking forward to Book 2! I definitely recommend you overlook the tiny missteps and fall for the love story as it is the part to love about this book. <3 Kellie

Synopsis:
Intended for 18+. Strong sexual content, violence and vulgarity.

Sometimes rules must be broken.

Sometimes your beliefs are challenged.

Other times... you just have to follow your heart.

For Marine Corps Sgt. Alex Cruz, the Corps' rules and regulations have served as a blueprint for how he should live his life. In his mind, the way to maintaining proper conduct and order relied heavily on the ability of the individual to follow orders without question. Alex was that individual.

Until...

Pfc. Cassie Bennett.

She is brand new to the Corps, looking to cement a place in the world for herself after breaking free from the oppressive life she's lived with her mother. Making it in the Corps is her way of showing her mother that she is more than she thinks she is, while also proving to herself she can survive one of life's biggest challenges.

Both Alex and Cassie are tested when an intensely strong attraction develops between them. They feel it, they want it, but one thing stands in their way... The Marine Corps order on Fraternizing. Their lust filled thoughts, their strong and aching cravings for one another, and their conflicted minds lead them on a roller coaster of emotions and feelings that neither can ignore, no matter how hard they try.

Loyalties will be tested, hearts will be broken, and careers will hang in the balance. Can Alex and Cassie keep their forbidden relationship a secret, or will they lose it all by Fraternizing?

About the Author, CC Brown:

Just a book reading, writing loving, mommy and USMC wife! :)

I love to write, even if it isn't what is conventional and makes everyone feel giddy inside. I usually pull from dreams, or ideas that just thrust themselves into my head. I have what some would describe as a dry sense of humor, and I think its conveyed in my writing. I like to think I am a kick ass chick, but I can also be sensitive. I'm learning to grow thick skin, and in this field, it is definitely needed!
I won't put anything out that I am not absolutely proud of, but like E.L. James said, "I can't own people's reactions to it." Thanks for reading my work... I do appreciate it!

Carter Reed by Tijan

Carter Reed by Tijan

When Emma decided to skip the gym and go home early, little did she know her life would never be the same again? When she got home she found her roommate being raped by her boyfriend, there and then she had to decide to kill or be killed. There was no choice! She then went to the one person she was told to go to if she ever needed help... Carter Reed.

Carter Reed is part of the mob and was Emma’s brother best friend, He is intimidating, intense, sexy and downright loyal and protective to those he loves.

When starting this book I was hooked from the first chapter, I was really looking forward to finding out how Emma would deal with things, but I didn’t get to find that out as there was no insight as to how she felt or coped afterwards it felt like that was just ignored and she just moved on from it. although this is fictional I felt that there would have been some sort of emotional rollercoaster for Emma dealing with   what she done, she would have been tearing herself up inside even though the reason she done it was for the good, it still would have torn her apart. Also the way Emma was portrayed in the beginning was that she would do anything even kill for her friend, however later on in the book, she didn’t put up any sort of fight when she found out her friend wasn’t being protected she just carried on as normal. The relationship between Carter and Emma seemed very rushed, I loved the feelings they had for each other but was confused as it happened so quickly. I would have liked to have known more and see them build on the relationship, it felt emotionless at times and they hardly spent time together, but fell in love so quickly. There wasn’t much of a back story into Carter growing up and his feelings for Emma, which I hope there may be a second book that explains more of this. <3 Katie

Synopsis: Emma decided to skip the gym and went home early. It was the last easy decision she made because she found her roommate being raped by the boyfriend. She had two choices. Call the cops and be killed by his family’s mafia connections or kill him first and hope to survive. There was no choice to her. She killed the bastard first and went to the one person who could protect her. Carter Reed. He’s a weapon for the rivaling mafia family, but he’s also Emma’s secret. Not only was he best friends with her brother, but she’s the reason he became that weapon in the first place.

This book is not for the faint of heart.

Finding You by S.K Hartley

Finding You by S.K. Hartley

This book will put you through the ringer, but in such a good way! I absolutely cannot say enough great things about Logan and Angel. Neva left me conflicted- I wanted to smack her half the time for the emotional wreckage she caused everyone in the story and the other half of the time I wanted to worship at her feet for having two hot as @uck guys tripping over themselves to get to her. I was not excited when I knew it ended in a cliffhanger, BUT since I had to read it, and book two is out in about eight weeks, I will patiently (maybe) wait for more. I loved it!!!! Five-stars <3 Kellie

Synopsis: 'I will always take care of you'

My pain started when I was just ten years old, it was the day my mom got that dreaded phone call. Life has never been the same....

'I will always protect you'

I am all kinds of broken....

I have known Logan White since forever, he is my brothers best friend and my secret protector. I used to have nightmares that drew me into a dark place and when the nightmares got too much, Logan was by my side. The nightmares are few and far between now, but my life is centered around the tragedy of my past.

Logan is the definition of 'man whore', with girls lining around the block to drop their panties at the click of his fingers. But after an unexpected moment things change. Now Logan is somebody else; hot, sexy and so damn delicious and I want to know him. Desperately.

But then there is Angel Walker who is far from the angelic nature of his name, with eyes so hypnotic that I lose my inhabitation’s just by staring into them. But he is a broken man who just screams sin. He doesn't want to protect me or care for me, He just wants me.

Do I want the man who can cut through all of my pain or the man who could cause me more?

Fists will fly, hearts will shatter and desire will be fueled.

About the Author: S.K. Hartley is a mother, wife and a writer and has just written Finding You, book one in the Bad Boy Series.

Her inspirations are John Keats, Percy Shelley, William Blake and Herman Melville.

Her favourite authors at the moment are Katy Evans, K. Bromberg, Julie A. Richman. Lauren Blakely, Jamie McGuire and Rachel Van Dyken.

S.K. Hartley has an unhealthy obsession with coffee, chocolate and retro computer games and a healthy obsession of stalking indie authors.

Chasing Dreams by Nicole Edwards

Chasing Dreams by Nicole Edwards

It took a while for me to get into the story but once you get into it it's amazing. I love the connection with Tessa & Cooper. You can sense the feelings between them, but you can also understand Tessa's resistance about loving again after her late husband. I like how their relationship grew & Cooper didn't give up. He gave her space when needed & was there for her when she needed also. Loved the over protective brothers & best friends, what every girl needs. I'm glad that both Cooper & Tessa got their happily ever after... five stars. <3 Amy

Synopsis: Cooper Krenshaw knows what it’s like to feel the bright lights upon him, the sound of the crowd roaring when he walks on stage; after all, he happens to be one of the biggest names in country music at the moment. And he has knowingly just dropped off the grid. The first decision he has made on his own in quite some time. Cooper only thought he was looking for a challenge when he walked off of that concert stage in Chicago. After finding himself in Devil’s Bend, Texas, he soon realizes that the dream he’s been chasing might not be the one he was after all along.

Now he’s found himself not only starting over in a new town, but he’s pretty sure he’s met the toughest challenge of his life... she just happens to be an angel in blue jeans.

Tessa Donovan hasn’t been the best of friends with Fate for quite some time now. Owning and operating The Rusty Nail, a small bar in her hometown of Devil’s Bend, has been enough to keep her going through the motions of her life. But it’s the only thing she’s got. After losing her husband fifteen short months after they were married, Tessa has spent the last four years chasing dreams in order to maintain her sanity. Only those dreams are soon ripped right out of her grasp by a sexy country music star who claims he descended on her small town by accident.

Coincidence? Or has Fate stepped in once again? Whatever the case, Tessa knows the handsome cowboy might get to overtake her dreams, but she’s bound and determined that he won’t take her heart.

A Tattered Love by Nickie Seidler

A Tattered Love by Nickie Seidler

Genre: Suspenseful Romance
Release Date: October 3rd, 2013

Amy's Review: I was given this book as an ARC to read & post a review. It is also Book of the Week on my Facebook page.
Facebook.com/MyFictionalBoyfriend

***Spoiler Alert***

I enjoyed the book. Dustin was sweet. It was up and down from the beginning but ended with a happy ever after. It was nice to see Dustin defend Riley. He was a lush dad & it was clear to see his daughter was his world besides Riley. This book was given four stars.

Kellie's Partial Review: As of blog review due date, I have not completed reading ATL- however, I will say that from what I have read, it is an emotional roller coaster read, with some unexpected twists and an evil mother that needs a punch in the throat. You should give this a read if you like a genuine love story and lots of drama.
Synopsis:
Riley Miller wants nothing more than to leave her past behind and never speak of it again. The damage caused by what has happened has made her build walls keeping people out. Starting over isn't easy. After a move to Cape Cod to escape the dark and haunting secrets, she meets Abby and Evan. Instantly becoming best friends, shy and quiet Riley tries to break out of her shell with the help from her new friends. Just as she begins to settle into a comfortable routine, Riley meets Evan's friend Dustin.
Life as Riley knows it will never be the same.
Looking for love is the last thing on Dustin’s to do list, if it’s even on there at all. Living with some significant secrets of his own, Dustin tries to keep from getting in too deep with anyone. But, he finds himself drawn to the timid, yet stunning Riley. Can they both accept the past and develop a relationship? Or will the skeletons in both of their closets keep them from ever moving on?

Reflect Me by KB Webb

Reflect Me by KB Webb

Amy's Review: WOW Logan is super sexy and so damn sweet. Love him btw. I want me a Logan. :)

Logan and Molly's relationship starts off as friends but you can see the true soul connection between them. I love how Logan takes to Molly's daughter even though she isn't his, but he treats her like his own. I love Molly standing up for herself. Girl power I say, Go Molly.
Simply a fantastic story and its well worth the read. I would recommend it. Looking forward to Lucas and Dani's story.

Synopsis: If you're looking for a story about a sweet, innocent virgin who rides off into the sunset with a reformed bad boy, then you're looking in the wrong place.

Some people don’t get a happily ever after. Molly Scott is one of those people, and she knows it. With the kind of past that she has, and the secrets that she holds, she knows that even if she found Prince Charming, he wouldn’t want her. She refuses to dwell on her less than ideal situation though. This is her life, no point in complaining.

Logan Wade had his life planned out, until all his dreams came crashing down around him. Now, he’s come back to the town he swore he would never see again to start fresh. He has no plans to ever settle down again, that’s how he ended up back here in the first place.

When Molly and Logan meet, they are forced to rethink the lives they thought they knew and the futures they were so sure they wanted. Suddenly, Molly wonders if there is a better life outside of the hell she has built for herself, and Logan begins to rethink his resistance towards settling down again.

They say love conquers all, but Molly and Logan are about to find out that sometimes love just isn’t enough

Moore To Lose by Julie Richman

Moore To Lose by Julie Richman

Moore to Lose sent me on a roller coaster of emotions! I loved the crazy ride and loved it from start to finish!

In Moore to Lose we go back 24 years to revisit Mia's life that she was apart from Schooner. We see how Mia evolves into the woman she is today. I was so excited to get to go back and kind of relive those moments with Mia. It made me feel closer to her in a way. It helps you make sense of a lot of things as the story continues.

Just when you think you have it all figured out! BAM! Julie has you shaking your head and saying WTH? Did that just happen? I was clutching my kindle so tight! Grab your tissues because you will need them! My heart broke for Mia but she showed us how she overcame a lot of the horrible things that happened to her.

I give Moore To Lose 5 stars!! It was a beautiful crazy ride and I loved every minute of it! Thank you Julie for such an amazing story and for the wonderful characters that touch our hearts! If you haven't already start this series today. You won't be sorry! <3 Carrie
