REVIEW
This is the first book by Annalisa Nicole but it will definitely not be my last. I am going to definitely be going back to read the first four in this series. It did not affect my ability to understand and follow the story, as it was easily a stand alone.
Ava was a strong female character to admire, with a flourishing career as a successful attorney. Even after promising her father that she'd slow down and enjoy life, that was not in the cards for Ava- her job being the the beginning and end of her day and basically her life.
Until she meets Jax....or until Jax runs into her. Twice. First as she talks to her Dad as Jax speaks to his wife- both mouring the losses of the two people they loved and needed most.
And second, when Jax spills coffee down the front of Ava's favorite lucky shirt.
Jax is the first single dad, ex-military, hottie chef I have ever fallen in love with in a book. Being the best father he can be to two little girls is definitely a heart melting part of this story and the way Jax gives Ava a reason to begin to slow down and smell the roses. And Ava in turn gives Jax a reason to feel and breathe again after the devastating loss of his wife just two years prior. This was a very good, touching and feel good story that anyone wanting to sigh in happiness as they turn every page will absolutely love. Definite 5 stars for me. ~ Kellie

I am an “Indie” contemporary romance author. I live in California with my husband and two teenage boys. I absolutely love being a stay at home mom.
I never liked reading as a kid. I only started reading romance novels in the past few years. My Kindle and I are inseparable now.
