My life has been full of uncertainties. Little did I know the biggest one would come in the form of a green-eyed beauty. She came into my life and flipped everything on its end and now things are more messed up than ever before.

Being former Special Forces, I’m no stranger to fighting, but this is different. This is personal. The stakes feel much higher and the struggle to save her will be my most challenging mission yet.

But I have a secret. A secret that threatens to tear apart everything we’ve built. I just hope she can overlook them when all is revealed.

You know me as Alex Matthews.

My mistake was getting involved with her, knowing what was on the line.

Their mistake was taking me away from her.

REVIEW

Uncovered By Truth by Rachael Duncan

After being left with a cliffy you get find out where Elizabeth and Alex's journey leads us.

You see a different side to Alex that again shows his love and loyalty to his job and the people around him. You see him fight for what he loves which makes him swoon worthy. Alex is being forced to part take in events that he wishes he didn't but he does in the name of love but also country. The story takes you on a journey of trust and loyalty. You will feel the struggle that Alex feels as he weaves through his mission fighting for what is right but also keeping his mask up to protect people. Elizabeth is being held again her will by her husband and is slowly losing herself again. Fearing that the love of her life is dead she dies little by little. But the truth isn't far from coming to the surface.
I loved the sweet moment they got together, it was sweet but also steamy. The sexual connection between Alex and Elizabeth is beautiful, they treasure each fleeting moment as if it's their last. I really did like the connection between them both, it seemed solid. Finally after you see them run into a bit of good fortune you get to see the good side to Alex and Elizabeth, the fun easy going side. The banter and fun loving between them almost outshines the darkness that threatens them. Their sexual chemistry flies high when they are together and their love shines through. It was nice to see that even through what they went through they still had each other and would always would have.
I felt sorry for Elizabeth for being put through the hell that her husband put her through, you could feel her pain when she was explaining it all to Alex.
When the truth finally comes to the surface all hell breaks loose and hearts get broken, I felt for both Elizabeth and Alex/Bryce they both had their reasons for the actions and feelings. I loved the reunion of them, it was fun loving and made me smile knowing that they would be ok in the end. The epilogue was a great way to end their story, they deserved it after their painful journey.

“Oh my God, Alex. They’re going to kill us, aren’t they?” Her lip quivers as she grabs onto my arm.

I grab both of her shoulders and stare into her eyes. “No, they’re not. We’re going to stay right here and we’ll be fine, okay?”

“But they’re going to come in after us. We need to leave.” Her voice rises with urgency and I know I need to calm her down before she does something stupid out of fear.

“Good. Let them come in after us. We know they’re out there. They’re not expecting us to be ready for them. We know the layout of this cabin. They don’t. We’re going to position ourselves in a way that makes it impossible for them to surprise us. In here, we have the advantage.”
